Awkward Encounters

I woke up early the next morning with Charles' arms still wrapped around me from the previous night. I pried myself from his grip and made my way into the bathroom, deciding to take a shower and wash my hair since I didn't get the chance to do it last night.

Carla's advice definitely worked and the cramps had kicked in like a bitch. I wrapped myself in a towel and searched through my suitcase for an outfit for today before getting changed, deciding to keep it casual.

It was another media day for Charles doing driver's press conferences and sponsor interviews so Luisa, Emma and I had planned to meet a few of the other girlfriends at the track for a coffee.

I was sat in front of the mirror brushing out my tangled hair when Charles woke up, his half opened eyes gazing over at me

"Morning" I smiled at him as he stretched sleepily
"Morning" he smiled back before it dropped into a frown "you showered without me" he pouted and I rolled my eyes
"We can't shower together every time, we'd get nothing done" I laughed as he nodded, getting out of bed and coming over to give me a kiss on the forehead

Whilst Charles was having his shower I blow dried and styled my hair before applying some light makeup. After half an hour we were both ready to go and headed downstairs for breakfast before we had to leave for the track.

Alex and Pierre were already sat in a booth in the corner and they waved us over to join them, Charles linking his fingers with mine to lead me over.

"Good morning lovebirds, good night?" Pierre smirked at the two of us
"Oh god, please don't bring it up again Pierre, I've got PTSD" Alex held his face in his hands
"What's this?" I laughed, confused
"Alex's bathroom shares a wall with yours so he got a front row seat for last nights antics" Pierre laughed
"Oh my god, please kill me now" I buried my scarlet face in my hands
"On the bright side, Williams will be happy they don't need to pay for Alex's naughty films this trip" Pierre joked "he's got that locked away up here" he tapped his finger to his temple
"You're disgusting" I laughed as I smacked his arm, sitting next to him in the both and across from Charles

We had our breakfast as we spoke about the upcoming race and I listened to the three of them talk technical as I picked at the slice of toast I had left.

"How are you feeling?" Pierre asked me quietly as Charles and Alex spoke about their schedule for today
"Yeah much better thanks" I smiled back at him "We went to see Carla yesterday and she helped with our little predicament" I laughed
"Good, I'm glad it's all sorted. I don't think we could handle a kid in the group just yet" he chuckled

Once we finished breakfast we all made our way to the track and I left Charles to go meet up with the girls. I wandered between the motorhomes until I found Emma doing the same, both of us immediately running up to each other for a hug.

"Missed you bestie" I chirped in her ear
"You saw me yesterday" she laughed
"Yeah but so much has happened since then" I pulled away from the hug and held her at arms length "Oh I'm not pregnant by the way"
"You're away from me for less than 24 hours and you think you're pregnant? What is going on?" She laughed
"Well I thought it could have been a possibility for the last week but I did a test yesterday and we're in the clear"
"I'm going to need a full recap of events when we're alone later" Emma whispered to me as we saw Luisa approaching with some of the other girls

Luisa introduced us to George and Carlos' girlfriends, Carmen and Isa, and we tried to find neutral territory to have our chat since we'd be bringing almost half of the constructors into any of the motorhomes we entered.

"I have George's keys" Carmen waved a Mercedes key fob in the air "we could find a little coffee shop close by?" She suggested
"That sounds like a great plan" Emma clapped her hands together as we all headed to the Mercedes jeep
