Cassie sat quietly in the back of the class head slumped against the palm of her hand. Aizawa had let the class do whatever the hell they wanted as long as they weren't loud. He had made some remark about not getting enough sleep before slipping inside his big yellow sleeping bag and promptly passing out.
The chattering of her peers filtered through Cassie's elf like ears as she stared wistfully out the window. The forest that lay beyond 1A called out to her begging for the female to join it. This was a side effect of Cassie's quirk, her constant longing to be outside somewhere far away from others lost in the comforting embrace of nature.
She couldn't directly communicate with nature but she did hold a great bond with it. Both the girl and the earth below her feet were intertwined granting the female heightened senses but only when surrounded by nature.
Cassie had gotten herself in trouble many times with her foster system managers because of her frequent wandering and her almost nightly escapades outside the foster home walls. No one was ever able to keep her inside for long.
It didn't matter if it was raining or snowing Cassie always found herself walking outside without permission several times a day. As she had grown so had her longing but with age comes wisdom and before long Cassie was able to control this need to be with the earth.
She still felt the familiar tug of the forest, the wind causing the trees to almost becon her forward however unlike when she was a child she didn't answer the forest's calls right away. She would take her time opting to walk the well worn trails of the forests of japan once a week to quell her needs.
She wondered if one of her parents had an earth related quirk, if they also had a connection to nature. She wished she knew who they were so she could learn more about her quirk, understand her powers just a little more than she already did.
If she were to be honest with herself she didn't need to know more about her quirk, she knew how it worked, its strengths and weaknesses and all that but she just wanted to have a family who would have taught her everything she needed to know and helped hone her quirk.
No one at the foster system had active parental figures but at least most of them knew who their parents were. They had a face to place their resentment on whilst she only had an abstract construct of family to direct her anger at.
