Leia rolled over in her bed, reading Calum's supposedly good-morning texts for her with a small smile. She was bundled up in her duvet like a burrito, looking like a maniac staring at her phone. She typed back her own texts before getting out of bed and ready for school, unaware of the impending events of her morning.

Calum, however, had no intention to get up for the next half hour. He was comfortably wrapped in his own blankets, napping lightly. He had woken up to share his thoughts with Leia, but she hadn't replied yet so he went back to his slumber. However, his phone buzzed a few minutes after he sent his last text.

I don't believe that for a second 😇

He chuckled aloud softly and was about to send another one back when Luke poked his head in the door. The blonde boy frowned when he saw Calum still wrapped in his blankets like a Maori burrito. "Mate, why aren't you up yet? We're gonna be late," Luke told him.

"I don't want to go to school," he mumbled, rolling around. Luke frowned at his best friend and opened his mouth but Calum cut him off. "Don't you dare give me that education is important shit again, Luke." He had practically memorized the damn speech. With a shrug the blonde boy left, not bothering to close the door behind him to deliberately piss off Calum.

Shaking his head, Calum rolled out of bed. He stretched his limbs like he did before football practice to get some of the stiffness out his system. He was feeling great, honestly; better than he'd been feeling for the past few months. He was happy. He had met Leia, he had fallen in love with her, and now they were finally together with nothing separating them—the messages that threatened to ruin them were long gone. It looked like clear blue skies for Calum from now on. And for that, he was thankful.

He stared at his phone's wallpaper: a stolen photo of his girlfriend laughing at something he said, hair tucked behind her ears and her face contorted in lovely delight. They were having a picnic that day, way before she found out about the texts and Anna living in Sydney, when he was still scared of losing her to his own stupidity. Looking at it now, he regretted not telling him sooner. Every moment he spent with her in the past were laced with fear and worry underneath, no matter how small. It always made their moments incomplete. But it was okay for him; at least now, he could begin to make new memories with Leia with nothing to fear. She was finally his, and he was hers. Nothing stood in between.
