Chapter 15 - Bottled Regret [Kai]

                                                       [Kai's POV]

- Flashback

"Look, as much as I would love to hang out with you more. There are still some certain things I need to finish first. So do please understand me Kai." Emily sighed, still pointing her fingers at me. "And seriously, dude... you should try to stop being so clingy towards me, geez... I know you love me so much and all, but you gotta give me some space too you know." Emily told me. I groaned, a bit upset. I only gave her a nod for a response, not wanting make her upset even more the she already was.

"Plus! There's more things you could do out there." She then stood up from her seat and puffed her chest. "Like I mean, the world is big after all!! So does the universe!!"  Emily yelp excitedly and I couldn't help myself but to smile at her, being all excited and all, it's always nice to see this kind of mood of hers. I chuckled. "I suppose that's true."

She then turn back and pointed her finger at me once more. "And you better be there with me Kai!"  I gave her a nod, obviously willing to go with her adventures. " Oh you know that I will! Wherever you go, I am always there~" I replied  her, before standing from my seat, pulling her into an embrace. "Always~"  I winked.

"Oh you~"  We both laughed as then the bell rang, signaling us to head to our next subject. "Welp, it is time for us to separate now, Kai. Meet me after class okay? Same place!"  She told and then bopped my snout before speed off to her next subject. "I'll see you later  Kai!" Emily shouted as she wave farewell at me while running. "Of course! Do your best love!" I shouted back, doing the same thing as her figure then disappeared from the corner. I sighed in satisfaction. "How did I end up to such kind and energetic human girl like you."  I smiled, before I myself make my way to my next subject.

"Sooooo Kai! What's the plan for today!" She asked, as she hops from tile to another. I put my hand onto my chin and think. I hummed. "What about we go to the net cafe and play some games?" I replied. But I only received a chuckle from her. "You always wanted to play some games all the time!" She said. "Oh why of course! I am a gamer after all!" She giggled. "Of course you are. But sadly, the cafe is closed for now. Old man has to renovate the place."

"Oh man... That sucks..." I sighed disappointedly. I then felt a hand onto my shoulder, it was Emily, who looks at me with a smile. I smiled back. "Oh don't you worry! There are still plenty of things we could do after all!! Come on!!" She said, before she then run ahead, pulling me along with her. "I can walk you know! Haha!" I told Emily, but she only let out a giggle while continue on dragging me along with her.

.......[Few Minutes Later].......

"The beach huh?" I said as I look the surroundings. It sure have been a long time since I went to any beach, because  I am always stuck up in my room for who god knows how long it has been. The view was nice though. "Yep! Like come on Kai! You are a shark, aren't you suppose to like the sea? It was kinda weird too see a race from  seafolk, who was a shut in inside of his room and away from the ocean at that." Emily told. I groaned in embarrassment at that. "Yeah... Weird huh?" I chuckled while I was scratching the back of my neck, Emily only did a 'Hmph!' response.

"Though, I do miss being near to the sea. I guess I should thank you for dragging me out here." I said with a smile to Emily. She smiled back. "Not a problem! And hey Kai! do you want to try out surfing? the waves seems pretty big today after all!" Emily said, I nodded in agreement. "Oh sure! Though, I am kinda rusty with this stuff... So don't expect things too much from me, haha..." I told Emily. "Eh. It's fine! I'm pretty sure you can be good again at surfing in a few tries! You are from the sea folk race and it's natural for you people to anything water related sports!!"  Emily reassured.
