Chapter 21: From Home

I could not believe it. It is already new years. It is still cold but the snow is slowly melting away for spring to appear. Chaewon and I made more new memories over the past month and I spent christmas with just her.

" Hun? "

" Yeah? "

" What should we do for new years? "

" My parents wants us to visit them. "

Chaewon's eyes widened and looked at me nervously. I could read her like an open book this time. She's still not ready to meet my parents. I reassured her that I will be there to support her together with Yena. Luckily, that calmed her down a little bit.

" Depend on me whenever, okay? "

" If you say so. "

" Haha, you're cute even when you're nervous. "

Chaewon glared at me before eating the breakfast that I made for her. She stopped frowning when she took a bite from her food. I smiled at her changed expression and got ready for our trip to my parents house. Basically, my old house.

" I'll wash the dishes, Y/N. "

" Go and get ready first, I'll wash it for you. "

" Here's my thanks~ "

She tiptoed and pecked my cheeks before running away in embarrassment. What a cutie. I continued washing the dishes before wearing my shoes for the day. Yena was already waiting in her car, bored out of her mind. Chaewon wore the scarf I gifted her on christmas a few days ago. She really loves to wear it every time we go out of the house.

" Let's go and meet Yena unnie! "

" Hey, don't rush! "

" I'm not a child anymore. "

" But you might trip and fall. "

Chaewon halted and walked at my current pace. I held her hand to make sure she would not slip and fall while we head to Yena's car. We arrived at her car and I opened the door for Chaewon to enter first. I sat at the front passenger seat and Yena greeted us before driving off to our parents house.

" Well, off we go! "

" You're awfully excited, noona. "

" Of course, appa wants to see the both of you. "

I gasped audibly by Yena's words. Both of my parents are 'happy-go-lucky' type of people. They were usually excited whenever something good happens to Yena and myself. They care a lot when it comes to their children so it makes me feel protected whenever I am around them.

" So nostalgic... "

We knocked on our parents door and we were greeted by our cheerful parents as usual. My mom was ecstatic to see Chaewon again and hugged her tightly. My dad rubbed my head and hugged me suddenly. It has been quite some time since I last saw them so I hugged my dad tightly before going inside the house. We took off our padded jacket and our scarves as we enter my warm home.

" When was the last time you've been here? "

" Hmm, quite a long time ago, actually. "

" Good to see you guys again! "

" You want hot cocoa? "

The three of us nod in unison which made my mom giggle and smile. Chaewon offered to help my mom in which she accepted her help. My dad looked at me with a smirk on his face. Just how much did Yena tell the both of them?
