Chapter 22-Cast Out Part 2

Selene's POV

It was the next day after the Berserker attack and Dagur capturing Stoick. Hiccup and I were walking to the Great Hall where everyone in the village seemed to be. We saw Gobber towards the back trying to settle the angry mob. We then saw the twins joining in with the mob. We walked over and asked them what was going on? "We don't know. But everyone's shouting, and I am totally into that." Tuff told us, then told the mob to raise their fists to he sky. That, only made the mob angrier. "Really not helping,Tuff." Hiccup told the boy. Gobber broke through the crowd and found us, mostly Hiccup. "Settle down, everyone. Hiccup will answer all your questions." Gobber told the mob and pushed the boy towards the front of the mob. I quickly followed after them, wanting to be there for Hiccup. The villagers started asking what we were gonna do and where Stoick was. Tuff asked when he could start yelling again. "Ah, good questions, mostly." Hiccup muttered. Hiccup tried telling everyone that Berk has gone through worse times, but Snotlout made things worse when he shoved Hiccup aside, trying to act like the chief. I walked over and grabbed him by the ear and led him outside. "Ow, ow, ow!" Snotlout kept complaining. I saw Hookfang come over and threw Snotlout at his feet. "Take him for a spin, Hookfang." I told the Nightmare and he was all for it. He grabbed Snotlout in his talons and flew off. Crystal walked over to me with Toothless at her side. "What did that muttonhead do this time?" Toothless asked me. "The same routine. Him pretending to be the chief." I told the two and they just huffed. We then walked back to our house and opened the door to see Hiccup picking up his dad's ax. We walked over and I put a hand on his shoulder. The door opened again and we saw Gobber. "You know, Hiccup, there's nothing easy about chiefing." Gobber told the boy. Hiccup just put the ax back on the table as Gobber continued. "You should've seen Stoick when he first started. He was like a newborn yak trying to find his feet." Gobber told us as he grabbed some fish that I had in the pot for Crystal and Toothless. He threw it to them and they ate the fish happily. "Thanks, Gobber." Crystal thanked the blacksmith. "I find that really hard to believe. No offense, Gobber." I told the blacksmith as Hiccup nodded his head in agreement. "Well it's true. There were many in town who didn't think he could do it. Alvin for one. He wouldn't shut up about it." Gobber told us as Hiccup walked over and sat in Stoick's chair. "Being chief doesn't mean that everyone is going to agree with you, Hiccup. Sometimes you're gonna have to deal with the Snotlout's and Alvins of the world." Gobber told the boy. I walked over and Hiccup pulled me to sit n his lap. "I feel like that's all I do though." The boy told us then put his head in my shoulder. Gobber sighed and walked closer to us. "They were best friends you know." Gobber told us. Hiccup released his head from my shoulder so we could both look at Gobber. "Who?" We asked in unison. Crystal and Toothless were paying attention too. "Alvin and Stoick, kids. They were inseparable since birth." I was surprised at this. "What happened that cause a fight big enough for Alvin to be exiled?" I asked Gobber. He just sighed but before he could answer, Fishlegs ran inside. I got off Hiccup's lap and ran over to the boy. "What's wrong, Fishlegs? Did you find any Berserker boats?" I asked the boy.

"N-no. Something way worse. Meatlug and I were on patrol and we saw the Screaming Death." Fishlegs grabbed my shoulders as he continued speaking. "It's eating it's way to Berk." He told us. Hiccup and I quickly ran outside before turning back to Fishlegs. "How much time do we have?" Hiccup asked the boy. "Not much. It was just off Dragon Island when we saw it." Fishlegs told us, then Astrid and Stormfly swooped in. Astrid got off her Nadder and ran over with some rolled up parchment. "This came for you and Selene. It's from Dagur." Astrid told us as she handed over the parchment. "The hits just keep on coming." Hiccup told her as he unrolled it and handed me the arrow. His face contorted in anger as he read it. "What does it say?" I asked him. "We have until sundown to deliver, you, Toothless and Crystal to Dagur before they..." Hiccup trailed off and I snapped the arrow in my hand. "It's a trap and you know it. If we fly anywhere near Outcast Island..." Astrid didn't get a chance to finish though. "Hiccup and I will handle Dagur. You and the others figure out how to deal with the Screaming Death." I told the girl. Hiccup, the Furies and I walked to the arena where we were keeping Alvin. "So how'd the town meeting go?" He asked us as we reached the doors of the cage. Hiccup and I didn't say anything, but Crystal and Toothless just growled at the man. "Sounds like you had them in the palm of your hands." Alvin told us. "Forget that, Alvin." I told him as Hiccup opened the door. Alvin had a surprised look on his face. "We're not letting you go, Alvin. We're going to Outcast Island to bring Stoick home. And maybe you can get your revenge on Dagur." I told the man crossing my arms. He smirked at the last part. I whistled a tune and Turquoise flew in. "What's up?" She asked me. "You're coming with us, girl." I told the Terror and she got really excited. Alvin was riding with Hiccup on Toothless while Turquoise was sitting behind me on Crystal. I saw Alvin wasn't to thrilled about being in the air and he latched onto Hiccup's shoulders so hard, I heard them pop. "You mind loosening your death grip?" Hiccup asked the Outcast. Alvin just chuckled and told us that all his grips are death like. Toothless then lifted his wings further up and smacked Alvin in the head. "That was funny." Crystal told Toothless and the two of them laughed. "Toothless, Crystal." I warned them but gave them a wink showing that I thought it was funny. I then remembered the conversations Hiccup and I had with both Gobber and Stoick. "Hey, Alvin?" I got the Outcast's attention. "We've heard that you and Stoick were the best of friends long ago." I told him and he just sighed. "Yeah, but that was a long time ago." Alvin told us. "So what changed?" Hiccup asked the man. Alvin then told us that they got into a disagreement during a dragon raid and things didn't end well. Things went so bad that Alvin was banished soon after. "Kinda reminds me of Hiccup and Snotlout." I spoke my thoughts aloud and the boys agreed. Outcast island was coming up and Alvin tried to get Toothless to dive down.
