(FRISK POV)

I adjusted my collar and brushed off my suit. Asgore—King Asgore—had it perfectly tailored to my dimensions earlier this week. Waiting for this meeting was excruciating, I mean, a direct audience with the Four Kingdoms Alliance was almost unheard of. And we had to look, act, talk, and hell, even smell our best. We could not afford to take any chances.

"Are you nervous, Frisk?" King Asgore leaned in slightly. In place of his traditional suit of armor, he instead wore a professional suit with a deep purple paludamentum (something I had to have Mettaton of all people explain to me.) which bore the Delta Rune coat of arms.

"A little," I tried to ignore the sweat on my hands by holding them behind my back. "This entire thing is completely unprecedented. There are no protocols or codes of conduct for an up-and-coming nation. We just... Have to wing it."

"Perhaps using your keycards would be a nice refresher?" He asked.

"Oh," I pulled out the pink notecards from my pocket, flipping between them quickly. "Yep, mhm, completely refreshed!" The cards were completely blank.

As I was avoiding eye contact with King Asgore, my eyes naturally gravitated to one of the security guards protecting the entrance to the Hearing Chamber. She was a human woman, presumably in her mid-50's. Her silver hair looked as though it was made from actual silver, and her wrinkled skin almost seemed to glow. There was something about which seemed... off. Her presence alone made me feel more at ease, which counterintuitively made my fight-or-flight instincts go on edge.

"Hello." My thoughts were interrupted by a young Northern girl. Her piercing blue eyes were immediately recognizable.

"Princess Izumi," I stammered. Princess Izumi Dryl was the crown Princess of the Northern Queendom. "I-it's a pleasure to meet you." Before I could figure out what cheesy thing to do with myself to show respect, she waved her hands.

"Please, don't bow," She got close and whispered softly. "I'm not supposed to be out here."

     "O-Okay... what brings you here?"

"You're the ambassador to the Monsters?" She asked excitedly. If you squinted, you'd think there were stars in her eyes.

"Allegedly." She giggled.

"So like, all the magic and stuff that showed up out of nowhere was you?"

"I had some help. You can't do everything alone, you know."

"It's so much easier when you do, though." She rolled her eyes. "So, like, how does magic work? What's it like???"

"I'm not a wizard or anything, I can't really do magic. If you really want to know, you should ask the King—" She stood up straight and held her hands in a curt position, avoiding eye contact with King Asgore.

"Under direct orders from my mother, I am not to interact with the King of monsters," She dropped the etiquette and whispered to me: "Tell him I said hi." I leaned over to King Asgore.

"Princess Izumi of the Northern Queendom says hi." I whispered. The King, who was watching the entire thing, leaned over to me.

"Tell her I say hello back."

"He says hi." I said. Princess Izumi giggled.

"Okay, so, like," She tripped over her own words. "When the Barrier broke, how did you—" She was interrupted by that guardswoman from earlier.
