April 5, 2006, A year later...

An alarm clock mounted atop a bedside table suddenly blared loudly, displaying the figures '6:30AM'.

No sooner had the device rang than a certain hand could be seen gently pressing on it, turning it off.

Then, a yawn could be heard as a certain blonde individual rose up from their bed and stretched his body.

"Morning already?" The individual rhetorically asked as he stared at the sun through his window.

Taking a glance at his digital clock, he took notice of the time.

"6:30 in the morning..." He read aloud, his eyes suddenly lighting up, "Oh yeah! Today's my first day back at school!" He exclaimed, which prompted him to spring up from his mattress.

The being was none other than our main character, Takemichi Hanagaki, better known by everyone in Tokyo as The Spectacular Spider-Man, who was now in his 3rd year of middle school.

The reason Takemichi had woken up so early was because today marked the end of his spring vacation, and it was officially time to go back to Mizo Middle School.

He knew arriving to school late on his first day back wouldn't really set a good impression, but he wasn't worried.

"Somehow I managed to get home and sleep early without needing to stop any crime, and now I'm fully energized for the morning." The teen commented as he entered his restroom, "Looks like the Hanagaki luck is finally on my side!" He stated with a grin.

After using several minutes to freshen up, the teen began to dress himself, wearing his costume before putting on his school uniform, a ritual he adapted when the time it took him to change into his outfit almost made it too late for him to foil a robbery once.

"I still don't get why it's mandatory for third years to wear this jacket though... Who the hell even came up with that rule?" The teen rhetorically asked with confusion, addressing the gakuran jacket he was holding, "Only in Mizo Middle School, I guess..." He sighed, shaking his head before wearing the jacket over his short-sleeved button up.

With that done, the blonde moved under his bed and took out two cylinder-shaped devices, placing them on his wrists.

These were his trusty webshooters he used to shoot webs.

Yes, you read that right. Despite gaining almost all of the abilities of a spider, somehow the MAIN characteristic of a spider wasn't on that list.

So, the teen had to take matters into his own hands and create a device of his own that'd let him replicate that, because a spider wouldn't be a spider without webs.

After putting them on, he noticed how the devices were suddenly hidden underneath the long sleeves of his jacket, and it made him smirk.

"Then again, it does have its benefits..." He smugly commented.

With a new pep in his step, the teen packed all his essentials into his bag before rushing down the stairs.

"It isn't getting any easier, Rize." An elderly voice spoke, stopping Takemichi in his tracks, "We're almost out of money..."

Pressing his ear towards the wall to eavesdrop, Takemichi recognized this voice as the one belonging to his grandmother, Rumiko Hanagaki.

And it seemed like the spectacled woman was talking to a friend of hers at the dinner table.

"But, Rumiko..." The other elderly woman known as Rize mused with concern, "I'm sure Koutarou left some-"

"Koutaro Hanagaki was many... many wonderful things..." Rumiko addressed her late husband, "But a financial wizard he was not." She added with a tiny chuckle.
