Bonjour, hopefully my computer doesn't decide to crash, and if it doesn't than this should be a smooth chapter. Oh well, thats a lie. Enjoy my loves.
-Darcy's POV-
I'm sure Matthew could see the fear in my eyes starring at this giant volcano in front of me. It wasn't a matter of being afraid that it would erupt or anything, because we were assured that wouldn't happen. It was more the factor of, we have to climb up this huge thing, and my lungs could give out on me. But of course I did it anyways.
We began the climb at 11am after having a big breakfast, and being sure to bring lots of water. They said it would take us about 2 to 3 hours to climb up this thing. So we began, in-between each hour we would take a break, by the time we got to our first break, my heart was racing, I was breathing heavy and I felt weak. My brain screaming stop Darcy, this is going to kill you. You can't make it. But my heart saying, you will never get this chance again. And now that I think about it, listen to your brain. We continued the hike and it took a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to the top, and once we got to the top, you could feel the heat from the lava coming up at us, it was kind of scary to think about, like one wrong step and you could fall into a pit of burning hot liquid that would melt you in seconds.
"We actually did it babe and i'm so in love with you. I feel like i'm on top of the world and having you by my side. We could do anything Matthew, we are unstoppable" I say in-between breaths.
"We are unstoppable, and I'm so in love with you" he replies and kisses me on the cheek.
I was good standing for about 2 minutes once we got to the top, but I became light headed, and felt like I was losing air, it was getting harder and harder to breath, plus the fact that my heart was racing due to how scared I was, was not making anything better. I could feel my lungs getting tighter and tighter and soon enough I was out.
The thing about being on top of a volcano is, theres no way for a helicopter to reach you when your up there. The only place they could reach you was at the break stops, which just so happened to be a good 30 minute climb downwards, and in situations like mine, hardly do you ever have 30 minutes. So seriously right now, I needed a miracle.
-Matthew's POV-
I knew it was a bad idea, I just knew it. Climbing a freaking volcano, with a girl who's lungs are weaker than a few sheets of paper. Seriously why was I not thinking. How could I have been so stupid. It took everything in me not to take Darcy from the guy who was carrying her down, and just full on sprint to where the helicopter would be. Everyone knows that, that it doesn't take long after air stops reaching the lungs for everything else in your body to shut down and at this pace, we are running out of time. Fast. After what seemed like a billion years of walking down to the break spot, we finally arrive. A helicopter there waiting for us, they take her in and I hop in too. We needed to get back to the UK.
"We need to get flown to London. In the United Kingdom"I said feeling like I was about to pass out. I can't lose her yet, she's not suppose to go yet! We've only been married for 5 weeks. Though even if the pilot flew as fast as he could, it would take us a good 10 hours to get back to the UK.
"I'm sorry sir, we have to take her to the nearest hospital and see what we can do" he tells me and I feel my heart drop, they do not know how to deal with her situation, its different from everyone else she needs to get to the UK.
