Lorraine was part of the school lunch program at her school. The aim was to make sure, every student had access to free lunches. Her parents were very poor, and they signed her up to be a part of the program.
Steak and cheese grinders and minestrone soup was on the menu for today. Lorraine showed the cafeteria lady her School Lunch Program card, and she got her lunch tray. She sat down next to her friends, Samantha, and Tracey.
Lorraine enjoyed her lunch, and would never starve to death in school.
