When I woke up I saw that I was in a bedroom, wearing nothing but a big T-shirt and shorts. I could tell from the masculine smell that these clothes belonged to Cole. Moving the covers off my body, I got up and went towards the door.
As I walked down the hall it was quiet and all the lights were turned off.
Was everyone asleep?
Walking down stairs I saw Xavier sitting on the couch. Silently, I walked towards him. Just as I made it behind the couch I stopped as he started to lay down.
"What? You came down here to kill me?" I couldn't help but stare at him in shock. He raised a hand in the air, motioning for me to come around.
When I did he then pointed towards the couch across from him, "Sit down."
After I sat down I then asked, "How did you know I was behind you?"
A small smile formed on his face as he sat up, reminding me of Cole. "I always pay attention to my surroundings, even when I'm home." Was all he said.
There was a moment of silence. I didn't know what to say... where would I begin?
When I looked up I saw that he was already staring at me, waiting. I couldn't help but feel angry towards the man in front of me.
"Do you regret it?" I asked him as he watched the TV.
"No, I don't."
Just as I was about to get up he continued, "Why should I regret it Orabella? Your father kidnapped my family and took part in a whole bunch of other acts... if I could go back in time I'd kill him again."
A few tears streamed down my face as I now stood in front of him, "Because of you I had to grow up without him. I had to live in that place with those people who treated me like shit! Why didn't you let me talk to him? I didn't even get to say goodbye or I love you one more time." I cried out.
Xavier was now looking at me in confusion, "Did Gabriel not show you the video and letters?"
"What?"
A small sigh came from him as he ran a hand down his face, "Sit back down."
After I sat down he cleared his throat, "Orabella, I'm sorry that you had to go through all of this. I understand that you believe there could've been another way, but there wasn't.
You father and I knew about each other before what happened between your mother and I... that day I made things clear to her that it was a one time thing, and she said it was fine."
"That's not what my dad told me." I spoke out.
"He also said that Reyna and Cole were his kids but we know that's not true. Henry has said a lot of things.
