Dark hadn't been responding. He wasn't even online the last four days. I had found myself resorting to old bad habits. I hadn't eaten in three days and I was slowly going to bed later and later every night.

I got ready in a sweater and trousers and grabbed my bag with my phone, some yogurt-covered pretzels, and my wallet.

I was at the hospital in half an hour. They allowed me in within five minutes, and there he was, in a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants. There were bandages around his arms and bulges under his shirt and on his legs, indicating bandages there, too.

"Link? What are you doing here?"

"I came to visit you. You weren't answering your messages."

"Yeah they got annoyed cuz I was reading The Titan's Bride so they took away my phone. I worried you would think I was avoiding you or something."

"Oh yeah I have very much been worrying." I carefully embraced him, ensuring I wasn't putting too much pressure on his injuries. He rested his head on my shoulder, succumbing to the embrace.

"It's only three more days, Link. If you could convince them to give me my phone back, it might be a little easier." He paused and scanned his eyes over my being. "You haven't been eating, have you?" His tone was remorseful. "I shouldn't have had my phone taken away. Then this wouldn't have happened, and-"

"No, don't blame this on yourself; this wasn't your fault. I reacted dramatically and allowed myself to do this." He suddenly pulled me into another embrace, tighter, not seeming to care about his wounds. 

"I'm sorry. It's just three more days. We can do it." I nodded into his shoulder. "When you get home, have something to eat. Can you do that?"

"Y-yeah, I can."

"Ok."

As I promised, I had something to eat when I returned home. It was small, but it was satisfying after three days with no food. I basically slept through the next three days. On the day Dark was coming home, I got up extra early to get to the hospital. When I got there, they dragged out a barely awake Dark. He flashed me a genuine smile when he saw me. 

He practically fell into my arms, and I had to hold him up. I drove him home, playing his favourite music.

"You're putting too much effort in for me, Link."

"Nonsense. I did not spend all that time worrying about you to not put this much effort in for you." I chuckled.

"Why did you pick me up so early, haha. Like, I get you can't wait to see me, but it's 5 AM." He yawned. "I'm gonna go straight back to bed."

He wasn't kidding. He immediately headed to our bedroom and flopped down on the bed, followed by a wince of pain.

"Damn, forgot about that." He laughed painfully.

"Be careful! I don't need you in hospital again." I went and laid beside him. I curled up against him, our bodies fitting perfectly together, like a puzzle, like we were created this way.

"Did you consider what I said?" He asked drousily. 

"Yeah. I'm totally up for that, but not right now. You need your rest."

"But when I'm done resting?" He said, and it was almost as if his eyes sparkled. 

"Maybe tonight." He made a triumphant noise, then kissed my forehead and drifted off to sleep.
