20) Hope

As much as the world fails you, never regret having a good heart.

"You heard it all ?" His voice, deadly and bone chilling.

His grey eyes were turning dark, taking a deep shade of black. The anger, the frustration, even the sadness all came together, living in his sharp gaze.

Chandni had her eyes down, in guilt.

She could have stopped him from saying everything last night but she did not. She continued pretending to be asleep even though she knew how would he feel when he will know the truth.

"I am bloody asking you something Chandni!" he yelled, the redness in his eyes turning dark as he glared at the girl before him.

The way he was shaking violently in fury made her leave her hold on his wrist and she nodded her head in yes.

"Answer me in words!" he yelled, his voice dark, sending shivers down anyone's spine who heard it.

The baby in Chandni's hold started crying, loudly. Her breathes were getting heavy, face all red and watery as the angry man's tone scared her small tender heart.

Chandni's eyes were down as the hot tears streamed out of her eyes, she brought the crying baby close to her, hiding her small face on her chest. Her one hand on her baby's little head while the other one making circles of comfort on her back.

Sabiq clenched his jaw hard, turning his hands into a painful fist. Hearing the loud, heart wrenching wails of the child was hurting him too.

He tried to tame his anger but it only increased hearing Chandni's next words.

"Yes I did Sabiq. I heard it all. I can feel your pain through your words Sabiq. I can.."

"Shut up!" He snapped, cutting her in between.

"You do not have a bloody right! You kept pretending to be asleep while I was opening my heart out thinking no one is listening to me..and now. And now you are doing all this," he gestured to the breakfast that she had cooked for him,"you are doing all this out of pity," Sabiq clenched out.

Chandni's gaze snapped towards him,"No Sabiq. Nothing is out of pity. You are getting me all wrong," she tried to convey what she truly feeling.

"Oh shut your fucking drama, Mehzabeen," he sneered dryly and before saying another word he stormed out of the kitchen.

Chandni ran behind him trying to explain herself,"Sabiq please hear me once. You are taking everything in the wrong way," her words begging him to hear her at least once.

"Don't come near me otherwise I will do something that you will definitely not like," Sabiq warned her as she continued following him.

Everyone's eyes were set on Capo and the woman who was following their capo as both of them passed through the long corridors of his mansion.

"I don't care, Sabiq. You just please hear me once," Chandni's voice was turning heavy as she tried to match his fast steps but it was hard to match his pace with a baby in her arms.

Sabiq was turning blind in fury. The secrets that he kept secure inside his heart since forever was now opened to a girl who was nothing to him.

Though he feels the things for her that he had never felt for anyone before but that does not mean she will use his past against him and pretend to care for him and his sister.

"Sabiq please listen," Chandni said but her words got cut as Sabiq slammed the door of his room right on her face.

The baby girl flinched by the loudness and in a second her painful frightened cries filled the silence of empty corridor.
