"Kun-ge?" y/n peeked into the room looking for her friend. But to find it empty, she walked right in.
She could hear the shower still running and assumed it would take longer for him to join her at dinner.
When returned, both were drenched all over from the storm. y/n borrowed one of Kun's oversized hoodie that covered her all the way to her knees and left the ruined clothes to dry.
She walked to the glass wall of the room, admiring the weather outside. The view itself left nothing to imagine, it was too beautiful to her liking, leaving her staring nowhere for the next ten minutes. Her thoughts raced from the few events they held in the morning to the last moment, when they left Ten alone in the mountain, 'I wonder if he's okay...'
So lost in her thoughts, she didnt even hear the shower running off and the door opening. Kun wrapped his arms around her from behind, his chin dropped on her shoulder as he held her close, "Penny for your thought?"
Walking out of her daze, y/n left a breatheless chuckle, "Nothing much...I was just wondering if leaving Ten back there was the right thing to do..." Kun visibly tensed in the mention of the dancer, "He wanted us to leave ahead. Beside you could catch cold if we stood there any longer." y/n hummed and leaned back on his shoulder, feeling the fabric rub against her back.
Kun was just done with shower, he visibly had nothing on except for a robe. Any other person wouldve felt strange for cuddling with a friend when they were barely dressed but not y/n. She had already made the mistake of letting her classmates words get into her head back in early high school days and feel something more than a friendship for Kun. And it took a dark turn back then...but not again.
"Ten seems to really care about you." she heard him say beside her ears, his words void of any emotion, as if he was simply stating a fact. "Ten?..." well that could be a discussion.
Deep within her, she did have feelings for Ten but she was scared of showing them, afraid that he wouldnt feel the same and brush her off, "He seems to know exactly what I want...once he wanted me to part take in a dance competition. I had no chance of winning but he still helped me with my practise. I still didnt win but at least I knew he believed in me." to y/n's obliviousness, whenever Ten was mentioned, the look in her eyes took a soft turn, she spoke as if she wasnt talking about a friend but someone she admired for a long time.
She never noticed it, Kun did.
Kun heaved a sigh and turned her around, they were facing each other but none of them said a word. Just from the slight frown and longing stare, y/n figured what he wanted to say.
They've been avoiding this conversation for long enough now, but they eventually had to face it. "y/n..." she hummed and started a stare battle with the floor. "Dont make this harder, look at me." she did and to her reassurance, Kun gave her a small smile, "You know that we're leaving next week..."
There it was, the sadness in his voice and the stinging pain in her heart she wanted to avoid all along, "yeah..." it came out more broken than she thought. She was counting days to enjoy each and every moment with them. But now that the day was so close, she felt dishearted.
He gently cupped her face as she was avoiding looking into his eyes, "Its not a goodbye. We can still see each other from time to time. Even though I was being such an asshole at first, the last two months were the most happiest times of my life as far as I can remember." y/n couldn't agree more, but she didnt give into it, giving in meant that she had to let him go and she wasnt ready to let it happen again.
"I'll be back-" her head shot up to stare at him, searching his eyes to find any hidden lie behind those eyes, "really...?" Kun nodded and held her close, easing the tension between them, "In few years... Its still in progress but Im planning on taking over a lot of entertainment companies. It'll take time but I'll make sure it happens. Then I'll come back." It was a good news. She always wished for him to be successful and live a comfortable life.
But suddenly, years sounded so far away.
"And there's something I wanna ask you." with the frown on her face yet not fading, she nodded for him to continue. She could take it, one more news could do her no harm. but her approvement alone wasn't enough since the boy was still struggling to speak.
"This way, we dont have to say goodbye. Not now, not ever. y/n, will you go back with me?" the words didnt set right to her, leaving her stare dumbly at him, "What...?" Kun gathered more confidence as he repeated his words, "Will you return with me, to our place?"
"Return...? with him...? to our place?' the place where they grew up and made all the happy memories at, the place she used to call her home, the place which always reminded her how good the old days were.
Can she finally return to that place...then act like none of these times ever happened...none of those horrible incidents took place, none of the wonderful people she met exists in her life...Will she be able to do that?
"I dont mean to force it on you. But if you come back to us, we'll gladly accept you. I'll take care of you...I'll protect you." that sounded promising, too wonderful for her own good. She wasnt binded to her family anymore. Giving how they would be much more contained and happy back in their place, she can understand why Kun didnt see why he cant make such decision.
Year ago, when she first settled down into this place with her family, the thought of running off didnt even cross her mind. She had this invisible string pulling and binding her to this place, making her think she was responsible for fixing her broken family. Then somehow she was so involved in various situations, returning to her old place seemed like a faraway dream to her.
But leaving it all behind, can she really be this cruel? Her home, her dreams and all her friends, can she really leave them all behind as if they werent the most beautiful thing that happened in her life. And what about Ten...
Even if she was terrified of the outcome of confessing her feelings, sometimes she just let her thoughts run wild and think of her future with him. Imagining how wonderful it would be if he was her, if they stood by each other till the end of time. She cant possibly leave him behind. She needed him in her life, more than anyone else.
A moment passed in their stiff posture as both were trying to sort out their own thoughts. y/n stepped back and turned her attention to the window.
Kun seemed to have figured out that he wasnt getting the answer he wanted as he also stepped away, "why wont you just return to us?" she didnt reply right away, instead she gave him a sad smile.
"Someone once told me, rain signifies different meaning to one, depending on who they experienced it with." Kun nodded, recalling that he was the one who said it to y/n back in their middle school days. "Then they asked me, how I felt about it. I didnt have an answer back then. I kinda hated it since I was terrified of the darkness it brought with it."
"Did you find it?"
y/n took a long breathe, gathering every courage in her to speak up, accepting the fact that she would lose a lot things depending on her answer, "Somedays... it reminds me of the day I lost everything...but somedays I tend to think about a certain person who made it so special for me." her heart was almost beating out of her chest, she had never dared to speak about that person this openly before, but now, "Im sorry...I cant leave them behind. Its all those terrible times that made me who I am now, because they never gave up on me, because he never gave up on me, It gives me all the reason to stay back...I wanna stay...for him."

Yangyang groaned as he throws the joystick away from his hand, "I lost again!"It's been few hours since he was forced to stay in yiren's house, which is basically right beside y/n's because the latter hasnt returned yet, so he assumed she crashed at Kun's.
Then a little game with his new friend while he waited for her to return didnt sound so bad. But he didnt win a single round since they started.
Yiren let out a playful laugh, "Its 5-0 now." yangyang shot glare at her, standing up with a whatever face, he stood infront of the window, accepting his defeat.
Suddenly, a certain figure caught his attention outside. He leaned closer to take a better look, "That's y/n's dad!"
