"Hey! My phone's not working. I was gonna call captain!" Leyla protested, clicking on the screen, annoyed.

She followed Marv and Kelly as the three teens were making their way to the back of the stage of the theater. Suddenly, both seniors stopped, frowning hard on her.

"What?" Kelly asked confused.

"Try yo' phones!" Leyla urged.

Marv and Kelly exchanged looks, shrugged their shoulders and dug out their mobiles.

GASP

Both began to click desperately on the screen. Nothing worked!

"What happened?" Kelly asked.

"I 'on't know, but my phone's wont even dial!" Marv said shaking his head.

"How are we supposed to communicate with SWAT?" Kelly asked as Leyla continued to worked the mobile.

Suddenly....

BANG BANG BANG

Coming from the halls, several rounds of shots sounded loudly, as bullets impacted the school's ceiling. Yells, screams, sneakers...pure hysteria! In a matter of seconds, what was an excited group of students became a crowd of cries and desperation. They pleaded for their lives!

Two men, wearing masks, hoodies and glasses, held automatic weapons standing tall in the long corridor, while one stood by the entrance of the building. Some students were paralyzed, others began running into the rooms. Some tried the emergency door in the far back of the hall, but it was locked tightly.Teachers looked everywhere, none had a clue what to do. They too panicked!

In the darkness of the setting, only the frightened faces of a few were seen, reflected off the small emergency lights in the hall. The problem was that many of the bulbs have not worked in years, so...they ran like chicken without heads!

"EVERYBODY IN THE ROOMS! NOW!" yelled one of the men in the hall.

BANG BANG

"GET IN OR DIE!" yelled the other repeatedly

BANG BANG BANG

"RIGHT NOW! GO! GO! GO!" yelled the one by the door.

BANG BANG BANG BANG

The men kept screaming repeatedly, as the students headed towards the rooms. For every scream, there was a round of bullets that followed. The noise was unbearable, as students screamed, cried and some even lost control of their bladder! Two of the suspects staid in the halls and ran the students into the opened rooms, while one pushed the biggest group into the theater.

The scene got worse once the students went in to the rooms. The perps followed and continued screaming, torturing the youngsters with continuous rounds of bullets. The shooting was so bad that now chunks of ceiling were falling into the ground and onto the students, who were ordered to lay down on the floor!

"STAY DOWN! I SAID STAY DOWN!" they continued to yell.

Some of the kids tried using their cellphones, but noticed the mobiles wouldn't even log on to social media. Nothing worked! They were trapped!

Holy Spirit College Preparatory Academy

"Alright students, I know some of you already finished the Pre Test, but I still have a couple who haven't. So...you can stay quietly in your desks playing cards or reading while..." the young teacher instructed.

There were still 15 minutes til the next period, but in all honesty, Matthew's head was somewhere else. Ever since his friends stopped texting him -through the computer app, of course- he hadn't stopped thinking about them. His whole squad was trapped in a building that could explode in any minute. He looked around him, but everyone else was in a bliss. None of his classmates needed to worry. Except for him...yeah, he couldn't help it!
