3rd Person POV
Kara's eyes snap open as she gasps awake, her eyes wildly searching the room. J'onn snaps his fingers at the agent and the agent grabs Willow's arm and pulls her out of the room
"No!" Willow exclaims, trying to fight the agent and get into the room -- get to Kara's side -- but the agent closes the door to the medbay and Willow presses her face to the glass of the window, trying to get as close as she can to see what was going on
"Kara, you're okay, you're safe." Alex says, stroking her sister's forehead as Kara tries to take the needle out of her arm
"No, don't do that." Marvin says, putting his hand over Kara's to stop her from stopping the blood donation
J'onn quickly pushes Marvin's hand away from Kara's and replaces it with his own. "You're okay." J'onn promises Kara as she begins to settle down. "You were injured but you're okay now..." He tells her. Kara takes a deep breath, nodding her head with tears in her eyes. She opens her mouth to speak but nothing comes out. "Don't try to talk right now." J'onn tells her. "You just need to relax."
"I..." Kara croaks out, looking around the room. "W...Will?" She asks, trying to find the one person she wanted to see in the room
"You're safe." J'onn repeats to Kara. "You're safe."
Kara looks around the room again, trying to find Willow but she is nowhere to be seen. On the other side of the window, Willow begs with her eyes for Kara to see her but then she realizes, it's one-way glass. Kara can't see her
Back in the room, Kara's eyes land on Alex's gaze. And Alex reads her sister's expression within a heartbeat. "Everyone out." Alex orders
"Alex." J'onn tries
"Now." Alex orders. "Kara and I need a moment alone..." She says, her eyes never leaving her sister's eyes. The group (plus Superman who slowly unhooks himself from the blood donation with Kara being stable enough) slowly piles out of the room, Marvin being the first to oblige and J'onn being the last to leave
"Kara Danvers..." Alex starts slowly, beginning her question with a whisper. Kara looks into her sister's eyes. "...are you in love with Willow Greene?" She asks
Kara presses her lips tight as her brain spins and something deep in her stomach tumbles. She thinks she is going to be sick. Or pass out. There was so much going in her mind right now. She was just in a coma. She's Supergirl. That doesn't just happen to her. The last time it happened...well, that was when Reign violently beat her up. But Reign was the enemy...Willow wasn't...right?
"I..." Kara whispers, breaking the silence as tears prick her eyes. Her mind spins in circles again and a pit drops in her stomach, once again filling her with nausea. And then, all of a sudden, her voice squeaks, "Yes."
"Then what's wrong?" Alex asks in a whisper
"What's wrong is we kissed...and then I died." Her voice breaks like shattered glass on the last word. And with her voice breaking, so does her composure. And she breaks down into tears and sobs as she covers her face with her hands
"But you're okay now." Alex whispers, rubbing Kara's shoulder comfortingly
"But I wasn't." Kara whispers back, pulling her hands away from her face and wiping at her tears. "I wasn't okay. I was dead. I'm...I'm supposed to be invincible and somehow...somehow I wasn't..."
"We all have weaknesses." Alex tells her sister
"But I'm not supposed to have any." Kara whispers
"Love is a powerful weakness that even the Girl of Steel can't escape." Alex tells Kara. "Vulnerability is a weakness that comes with love. And when you love someone, you allow yourself to be vulnerable with them. I've seen the way you look at Willow, seen the way you talk to her...your feelings are obvious. So don't let this stop you from going after what you love. Because without love...well, life wouldn't be worth living, would it?"
"But how will we ever be together?" Kara whispers, her voice breaking
"Forever is a long time for soulmates to figure it out." Alex tells Kara
"Soulmates?" Kara asks in a whisper
"Soulmates." Alex confirms

Kara is sitting at a table in the medbay alone. She was finally cleared to move from the bed, despite J'onn wanting her to take it easy. She sits at the table, quietly in her thoughts as she listens to the monitor connected to her vitals beep at a steady pace
And then, all of a sudden, there's a sound at the door. Kara looks over to see Marvin standing there, having just opened the door. He gives her a quick nod before opening the door further to reveal Willow
The green-eyed girl steps into the room as Marvin closes the door behind her, allowing the two girls to be alone
"Willow..." Kara breathes in a whisper, staring at the green-eyed girl with tears in her eyes. She could see that Willow had been crying. The puffy red eyes and the tear stains down Willow's cheeks were enough to hurt Kara's heart, pulling at her emotions
But something that was emotionally destroying the girls was their distance from each other. They couldn't go near each other. Not right now. Despite their fierce love for each other, neither girl would let themselves get close to the other one in fear of what could happen
Willow clears her throat to speak but cannot find her voice, a sob catching in her throat. She clears her throat again and tries again, finally finding her voice. "How...uh, how are you doing?" She asks in a whisper, standing by the door
"Please, come closer." Kara whispers
"I don't want to hurt you." Willow says, looking down at her feet. "I'm...I'm afraid. And you're probably afraid of me..."
"I could never be afraid of you." Kara promises in a whisper. "I love you too." She says and Willow snaps her attention to Kara. "I never got to say it back. I love you too." With those words said, Willow inches forwards and takes a seat across from Kara, holding her breath for a moment before letting it out
"What do we do now?" Willow asks in a whisper with tears in her eyes
"We take baby steps." Kara says, placing her hand on the table
Willow slowly reaches out, placing her hand on the table just inches away from Kara's. She wants to close the gap, wants to touch Kara so bad...but she's too afraid, she doesn't want to risk it. So she nods her head and lets out a shaky breath..."Baby steps."
And with that promise, the promise that one day they will be together -- will be able to connect -- the girls stares into each other's eyes and smile
