the entire group sits spread around the living room as matt, chris, elijah, and kingston play a game on the xbox. matt sits on the edge of the bigger couch, auroras head resting on his lap as she scrolls through tiktok on her phone while her legs rest on nicks lap next to her. matt has one of his arms rested over her chest so he can hold the controller away from her face. nick keeps shoving her legs off every ten minutes and tells her to just 'sit up like a normal person' but she is far too comfortable for that.
nick is just watching the video game as elijah is sat next to him, slightly slouched down further into the couch. it still makes aurora raise her eyebrows every time they interact because she's not quite sure when they actually started talking, but she's happy for them nonetheless. she just has to get used to the fact that yeah, sometimes things really do just work out.
