It was the summer of 1969. We were booked to the top of the roof. I mean we were set to do everything. Meet all the people.

Shows. Performances. Meetings. Interviews.

All things that we had missed.

All because of Richard and my mother. Sadly. My mother was a really good mother. Before, she would always protect us from his rath.

No matter what it was. She'd take the hits for us. Stand up for us.

It still happened, but it became a little less.

Sometimes when Richard had began with his little tantrums she'd just sit there with a dazzled look in her face. Pupils fully dilated. Eyes dark. She looked life.

When he would go off on his 'business trips', or just go MIA, my mother would throw tantrums of her own.

The only thing that was different about the two, is that hers was scarier. And drug induced.

Richard was getting my momma doped up and it scared everyone when we found out.

Coke.

Crack.

Weed. Not really all that bad.

Heroine.

LSD.

My mother doped up on any and everything.

Drugs.

One of the things set to ruin the family.

To the outside people saw Pat Johnson as the sweet and loving mother of the All American Johnson family. And they saw Richard Johnson as the strong head of the house hold and the loveable manager. But the two were far off from that.

Richard got abusive time after time and committed horrifying acts against children of his own, and his step children.

And Pat was a confused mother with mental issues that was heavily addicted to drugs.

And their kids were caught up in the crossfire.

All of us, as in the ilder kids knew that Momma was addicted. The younger kids did not. So trying to keep the secret was hard.
