Bloodthirsty Titans were one thing, but what about bloodthirsty giants?
Thea had gotten away with her life the first time, but with the giants? She wasn't quite sure if she'd make it out alive this time.

Time seemed to slow down, which was really frustrating, since Thea still couldn't move. She felt herself sinking into the earth like the ground was a waterbed - comfortable, urging her to relax and give up.
She wondered what her dad would say as she got to the underworld dead and not alive. Would she reach Elysium? Would he be happy that she was finally gone? What about Persephone? Would she be happy that her husband had one less illegitimate child that she had to tolerate?
A thousand question flowed through her mind, but the most visible in her head was: Will my mother be there to meet me in Elysium?
She hadn't seen her mother since the storm. One dark day when she was only a child. Six years old and her mom dead on the floor. She'd either been hit by the lightning or drowned in the flood. Either way, Thea didn't stick around to find out. She ran through thedeep puddle in her house and onto the street.
How she survived, she couldn't tell you. Social services found her anyway, and she was sent to foster homes. Not many friends were made, at least not any that she could remember. Thea had hated it. She had hared the way the parents would yell the name her mother had always said with love.
So she switched it.
She told every family she got to that Thea was her first name and Atalanta was her middle name. She convinced them, and no-one had called her Atalanta after that. It was only Thea, because as far as they knew, Thea was her first name. The name she'd always been using. Nobody alive knew the truth. Not even lilith had, and Marielle hadn't been told either.
Only Juliett Goldaxe had ever known, and the name she had once given her daughter had faded away with her death.
Thea didn't know how she'd managed to think so much in just a split second. No time had passed when she got out of her daze.
She couldn't feel her arms. Thea could see the tip of the spear coming towards her chest in slow motion. She knew she should've moved, but she couldn't seem to do it.
Ironic, she thought. All that effort to stay alive and prove the stereotypes wrong, and then boom. You just lie there helplessly while a fire-breathing giant impales you and your blonde cousin.
Leo's voice yelled, "Heads up!"
Just like that, Thea's hope for a nice Christmas returned. A large black metal wedge slammed into Enceladus with a massive thunk! The giant toppled over and slid into the pit. Jason managed to roll away from beside her, and an angel appeared in her vision.
