I woke up to a knock on the door. I cringed once the light from outside glared at me. Siph waved and smiled at me. I tried to fix my hair by running my hand through it.

"Morning Mr. Sleepy!"

A yawn escaped my pale lips as I pulled my arms up in a morning stretch.

"Okay. More like Mr. Grumpy. You should shower."

"I don't want to!"

"Come on Callestor! I'll make breakfast."

I looked to her hands full of groceries and smiled. The thought of it actually sounded quite good.

"Hngg. Okey!"

I grabbed some clothes and trudged to the bathroom.

"What do you want?"

"Anything."

Siph groaned then stood up and went to the kitchen. Once I was finished getting ready, I went back to the kitchen to see a huge meal of pancakes, eggs, and bacon on the table.

"Whaat is this?! Amazing!"

I heard my voice squeak earning a grin from Siph.

"Why thank you!"

"How'd you do that so fast?"

"Why did you shower so slow?"

She looked at me with an inquisitive face and a hand on her hip.

"It's the first time I've showered in weeks."

"I didn't know you had a shower in here."

"Yeah. Neither did I."

I started gobbling down the pancakes and after 30 minutes... Everything was gone.

"What? You haven't eaten for weeks either?!"

"S'good."

Siph was nonchalantly sipping her tea as I licked off the maple syrup running down my lip.

"I've eaten a couple of times-"

"Callestor! Don't talk with your mouth full that's rude!"

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her remarks as she wiped off the syrup from the corner of my lip.

"Oh! Sheesh sorry Mum!"

I chewed faster and eventually swallowed everything in my mouth. Siph just stared into the distance making me feel quite uneasy.

"You okay Siph?"

"It's just that... I've done so much for you and you haven't done a single thing me. I guess I'm just not used to giving someone my all without expecting anything back."

She grabbed the syrup drenched tissue from my hand and dabbed at her eyes.

"I'm sorry."

"Oh don't be... it's just the illness talking."

"Ah. I see."

She sighed and went back to her usual uplifted self.

"How can I ever make it up to you?"

A smug look shined across her face as she looked into my eyes and parted her lips only enough to utter those infamous words.

"... You'll see."
