~Narrator/Leo~
Leo bolted away from the animal/person/not food anymore/Kraang creature, it was wheezing, slumped against the wall, blood dripping from its nose and neck. He continued running, he was so hungry, he should've ate the animal/person/not food anymore/Kraang creature when he had the chance. The smell of its blood was enough to make his mouth water. Just the thought of tasting the blood.
Just a drop. All his hunger would go away, maybe some meat, flesh, fat maybe? Anything would help.
He looked at one of his claws, it was coated in blood, just a lick? Just one small taste.
Bad decision, he was more hungry and bloodthirsty than ever now.
He came upon a circle of light, there were bars around the perimeter, leading upwards to a dark circle.
Food there? He thought.
Yes, there has to be food there. Up through the portal. He jumped up and grasped one of the bars, wrapping his claws around them and hoisting himself up. Surprisingly he was a bit heavier than he remembered, perhaps floating around in the Prison Dimension made him forget how much we weighed.
He leaped from bar to bar until he finally reached the top, he sniffed the dark circle, inspecting it. It smelled like something was rotting. Rotting food?
Maybe.
Food?
Up there. Above, past the dark circle.
He pushed his head against the dark circle, it lifted! He got stronger maybe?
Stronger? He questioned himself.
No, weaker.
Need food.
He managed to make a crack big enough to squeeze through, so he did.
God he wished he didn't.
Everything was bright, and loud. It hurt.
Make stop. He begged, shutting his eyes and trying to drown out the sound.
Find food, get shelter. That'll be okay right?
Right?
~April~
I was walking down the streets of New York, which was surprisingly empty apart from a few cars whizzing by here and there.
New York never slept. Well, I guess it started to sleep after the invasion, people were far too afraid to come out after that. Netflix and other streaming apps blew up from people too scared to go outside. The news was basically just science discoveries about that one Kraang that the military took in.
I heard a bunch of commotion come from a street over, of course, I'm the curious one. I went to go see what was happening.
As if I stepped into an alternate universe, there were a bunch of people clamoring about in a small huddle, maybe there's a piece of Kraang bio growth that didn't get taken up?
I walked closer to the gigantic group of people, who were now shouting in fear. I heard...hissing? Okay...that's weird. Did somebody get Kraang-ified somehow? Was there an oozequito on the loose and somebody got turned into a mutant? Oh god. Nope, too much, stay curious, turn around, walk back.
I started to turn away, wanting to give my eyes and brain a break from another traumatic/disgusting sight of whatever was in the huddle.
I heard a broad voice shout commands and another voice, which sounded like they were smack down in the middle of puberty yell as well. They sounded familiar, but I was too far away to hear it clearly.
Thud.
Ow, who the heck trampled me? I fell on the ground quite harshly, my glasses came off my face. Probably cracked, but with my blurry vision I looked up and I could make out the iconic red marks on a certain iconic turtles face as they ran away....on all fours.
Leo?
Leo!
"LEO!" I shouted. Wait, LEO? Wasn't he stuck in the uh- that place? Huh? How? HOW DID HE GET OUT?
Oh my god! Leo! My iconic little brother! I was going to cry, but then remembering that I am in excruciating pain, I didn't.
I saw the familiar ankle bandages wrapping around green feet standing in my vision. I looked up and Raph had a giant worry line creased on his forehead, heh, poor guy. Oh yea, he was missing an eye, kinda forgot about that. You see, after Leo wasn't retrieved I gave the Hamato clan some space so they could grieve, don't get me wrong, I grieved too. A lot, all the takeout I ordered from not wanting to cook can back me up. And I was only seeing and hearing them now.
"April!" Raph's excited/worried voice boomed. He reached a hand out to me and I grabbed it and hoisted myself up. Then I gave him the biggest hug that could possibly outmatch Mikey's. I pulled away and spotted CJ too, he had a determined look in his eyes that scanned New York, but his gaze softened when his eyes met mine.
"Hey Aunt April!" He said with a grin, his battle stance not moving for a second.
"Hi CJ! Long time no see huh?" I said, waving.
He waved back, "Yea."
"Okay! Now that we've reunited, we gotta go get our brother, who most likely has rabies." Raph interrupted.
"You're welcome to join! We probably need more hands on deck." CJ added.
"Okay! Wait, where's Y/N?" I asked, they would be tearing up the whole city looking for Leo.
"In the medbay but we'll discuss that later." Raph answered. The medbay? Y/N is really tough so whatever happened must've been serious.
I can't worry now, we need to find Leo.
"Okay team, split up! We'll cover more ground. If you find a trace of Leo use the comms and let us know his or your whereabouts.
Oh right! I still have my comm from the invasion, it was wrapped around my wrist tightly.
I gave Raph a determined nod, CJ did the same too.
I ran to a nearby alleyway, he wasn't there.
I checked every alleyway I know, and even some that I don't know. Every nook and crevasse I could find I checked it, nothing.
"Did anybody find anything yet?" CJ's voice piped up from the comms.
"No."
"Nope."
I heard Casey's exhausted sigh through the comms.
"Hey, we'll find him, don't worry." I reassured him.
Casey let out a breathless chuckle, "I sure hope so."
