The Big Ten tournament is starting in four days, and we play Michigan first. The lacrosse team ended up third in the tournament, and I can't wait to play. We head to New Jersey, in the a couple days because that's where the tournament is taking place. If we beat Michigan, then we'll be staying there for the weekend.
The Blackhawks played Game six of the first round, and fortunately they won. That means that the team is moving on to the second round. I wasn't able to be at the game, and I'm actually pretty upset about that. It seemed like a really good game. Dean texted me that the team is playing Minnesota in the second round. I don't know if I'll be able to go to the first game of the season because I might be in New Jersey, but it's okay.
Finals are coming up, and I'm pretty ready for them. My grades have been good all year, and I'm prepared to ace the finals. Emmi and I have been studying to make sure we keep up in class with lacrosse going on too.
Right now, we are both sitting at our desk in our dorm room when Emmi suddenly threw her pencil at the wall.
"What the hell, Em?!" I exclaimed startled.
"I'm sorry. My brain is fried. I don't even think I've been reading the words on the pages this past hour." Emmi said.
"Let's take a break." I said, setting down my pen on my notebook, and standing up.
"And do what?" Emmi asked, turning around in her chair to face me.
"I don't know. I'd say go get drunk, but it's a Sunday night, and we both have ten a.m. classes tomorrow." I said, and Emmi laughed.
"You don't even drink, Scot." Emmi chuckled.
"Hey, I've been known to toss a few back now and then." I defended.
"Please. Let's just go get food or something." Emmi said, standing up.
"Sounds good. You wanna walk?" I asked, pulling on my shoes.
"Is it warm out?" Emmi asked.
"I don't know. I'll take my keys, and if its warm when we get outside then we walk, if not, then I'll drive." I decided.
"Sounds good." Emmi agreed.
When we got outside, we were hit with a chill, and Emmi and I just looked at each other, and silently decided that we should drive to get food. It was a short drive, but worth it to not be cold. We decided to stop at the small Italian place outside of campus. I'm not a huge fan of pizza, so this place is nice because it has pasta too.
We got our food, and sat down at a table to eat. Emmi and I sat in silence for a while, and then Emmi broke it.
"So, I've decided to tell you what happened between Brandon and me a while ago. You just have to promise me not freak out." Emmi said.
"Uh, okay." I said, unsure of where this was going.
"Brandon went out one night, and this girl started hitting on him. He said they went back to her apartment, and were about to have sex. Brandon stopped it before it could get to that point, but he still cheated, and he didn't know how to tell me. That's why he wasn't answering me that day, but when he finally told me, I didn't know how to react. I was upset, but not as much as you would think. Anyway, we talked about it, and we worked it out, so we are all good." Emmi explained.
"I see, but everything is fine, right? If you're okay with this, then I'm okay with it. I won't go off on Brandon or anything." I promised.
Emmi laughed, "Yeah, everything is fine. We're good. Are you and Dean good?"
I smiled, "Yeah, we're good. We're better than ever. He asked if I wanted to leave a few of my things at his apartment for nights that I may stay over." I told Emmi.
"No way. Brandon hasn't even done that yet. It might be because he lives with Shawzy and Chaunette is there a lot, but still. That's pretty big, Scot. What'd you say?" Emmi said.
"I said sure. Next time I'm in town, I'm gonna leave a toothbrush, some clothes, that kind of thing." I explained.
"That's a big step. So, does that mean you're going to be staying at Dean's whenever you're in Chicago?" Emmi asked.
"I don't know, maybe. I don't know how my parents would feel about that, but yeah I don't know." I said.
"You two haven't had sex yet. Is that going to happen soon?" Emmi asked bluntly.
"Probably. It almost happened last Wednesday, but I stopped it. I'm still not completely ready after the break-up." I said.
"By almost, what do you mean?" Emmi questioned.
"I mean, I was cooking us breakfast in his kitchen in my underwear, and one of his shirts. We started making out, and I took his shirt, and Emmi, when I say almost, I mean, I was seconds from ripping off my underwear, and throwing myself at him. I just had to stop it, and I have to work my way back to that point." I recounted that morning to Emmi, and she couldn't help but laugh at what I was saying.
"Okay, I get that. Sounds like things are getting serious between you two. He's staying in Chicago this summer right?" Emmi asked.
"Yeah. He didn't feel like going back and staying with his parents. He likes the freedom he has here. Des, his younger brother, is coming to stay with him for a week in like June or something." I told Emmi. We had finished eating, and were driving back to our dorm.
"That'll be fun. The three of you in the apartment together." Emmi said, joking but at the same time, not joking.
"Hey, just because I'm leaving a few things at his place doesn't mean I'm moving in." I told her.
"But you could be soon." Emmi jabbed me in the side.
"Hey, don't distract the driver!" I laughed with Emmi.
We spent the rest of night laying in bed, watching Netflix, and talking.
