(So this is me, a 16 year old girl, trying to get into the mind of a 37 year old adult and a parent.
Should be easy (not)...
This chapter begins the second part of Spitting Image.
And authors note at the bottom is kinda important :)
Let's do this poo! XD)
10 years went by so quickly. One morning I wake up to Blaine's small hands patting my face the next I wake up staring up at a young man who's a replica of his father. The only difference between them is that Blaine is a lot more soft spoken. No idea where he got that from.
And the little sister Blaine wanted, Louise, who refused to learn how to spell her name, is now 10 years old and an older sister.
A year after Louise was born, we had another child. Children because we had 2 actually. It was a surprise to all of us. We had twins. The girl, Summer, three minutes older than her brother, Seth.
Summer is a blonde, just like me and our eyes resemble as well but the shape of her face and the way her cheek bones are so prominent, that's Louis' genes.
Seth is another mini Louis but more troublesome than his older brother. So much like his dad. Seth's hair is somewhere in between the colour of mine and Louis', a lighter shade of brown. His eyes are the same kind of blue as his dad. If Blaine is the exact replica of Louis physically, Seth is Louis' personality clone.
Blaine and Louise aren't very difficult to discipline. Blaine was the easiest because he's a very responsible young man. He's always looking after his sisters and brother, he even scolds Seth sometimes when he makes Summer cry. Louise is very easy, a lot shyer than Blaine, not at all a troublemaker like Seth but more behaved like Summer. However, when she can get very snarky when she wants to be.
In those ten years, a lot has happened. It was trickier and more frightening than how mum described what it's like raising a family. Things happened; fights, a lot of yelling because we're both stubborn and just so many conflicts.
All I can say to sum up the whole ten years was it was, and still is, one massive rough patch. And we're still in that rough patch.
~~~
Going around the supermarket with Blaine was just an ordinary day. It's hard to believe that the little boy who used to run around the supermarket with me is now as tall as I am, and scolding me for my dietary choices for them. He's a real sportsman and watches what he eats... most of the time.
"Is dad coming home tonight, mum?" He asks me as I pick out some fruits from the rack.
"He's home now but he might be going out tonight." I tell him and I can tell what his reaction would be.
"Again? That's all right with you?" He asks me, the sound of frustration in his voice.
He has a point. I should be furious with Louis going out every night but I don't bother. I'm tired of going through that same routine again.
"Stop it, Blaine," I tell him and I could almost sense him rolling his eyes at me. "He can handle himself. Anyway, Niall and Zayn will be there."
Niall moved back in London just a couple years ago. Coincidentally, the year Niall moved back in London was the year Carrie came back as well. If you ask me, I'd call it fate.
I put the items on the counter one by one, emptying the trolley. The cashier scans my items, I pay for it and Blaine carries them to the car. Finally, I've gotten my license although Louis still thinks I'm incapable of driving.
