CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

It's been a couple days since Pietro was found and we reunited with him, his sister, and Vision. The Avengers have been amazing and nothing but kind to me. They've welcomed me in as an honorary guest in the Avengers tower and training facilities. I'm welcome any time for bringing Pietro back.

Thor hasn't returned yet from Asgard. It seems he's taking his time looking for answers of the wormhole that happened. Clint returned with Natasha yesterday evening, and we've gotten along fantastically since. Steve is still with Peggy, and Tony visits them both daily, checking in. Sam has gotten a hot lead on Bucky, so he's off with that.

Wanda and I have gotten along the best out of all the Avengers, I think. We have similar interests, styles, and senses of humor. We love pranking the rest of the gang, including an infamous incident that involved a razor and Tony's beard. Don't worry. We had Pepper's permission.

Yesterday, I got a peculiar call from Professor Mortimer. He said that in this world, he works closely with Dr. Erik Selvig and Jane Foster. He currently works in London, but plans to visit soon. I was thrilled to hear from him, knowing that he made it and was alright. Turns out he was better than alright.

Over the past few days, Pietro and I have been with our friends, mostly. His training for official Avenger status begins next week, so we have time to settle in and relax.

Despite the prank, Tony offered us a place at the tower, and we gladly took in up on it. We'll be sharing an entire floor with Vision, Wanda, and Natasha. I paid the last rent on my apartment and moved out, with much thanks to a couple super humans I know.

I've been noticing my sight doing weird things, and I mean weirder than normal, since I arrived in this world. My sight seems to adjust itself like a camera, giving me greater view, clearance, and details.

When we were moving my things from my apartment, I had to jump to get some things at the top of the shelf in my pantry. Now, that's mot strange, but not coming down for a couple seconds when you only jumped a couple inches is weird as hell.

After that event, I've tried many times, jumping off the bed, the kitchen chairs, even the balcony onto the next floor balcony. Every time I focus on levitating, that's exactly what happens. This strange phenomenon has me questioning my sanity.

I haven't told anyone about this, not even Pietro. I don't want to worry him, but I'm starting to think that I may not have a choice in the matter anymore.

Currently, I am contemplating my thoughts. The cycle seems to be never ending. I tell him, I tell him not. I tell him, I tell him not? I don't know. It's not like he can judge.

I play with my fingers, a habit I've picked up from Pietro. Thing's here aren't black and white. Some people love mutants, like me. Others want to control them, like S.H.I.E.L.D. Some people want to destroy them, like a lot of the world. My options are limited. Do I wait? Do I just spit it out?

I roll over onto my other side to face the boy who's gotten me into this rotten mess. His messy white hair covers his peaceful face. He's been sleeping for almost three hours, and it's only the afternoon. Workouts with the Avengers have been exhausting for him, so he sleeps whenever he can.
