I walk past the glass windows of the cafeteria. Seeing everyone. "Don't look," I glance to them anyways, seeing Thomas walking towards the window, and Aris taking off his hood.
"In order for this to work we need your full concentration Jane."
. . .
It was nightfall, I remembered. I remembered everything. And then, I remembered them, too. Wicked.
I close my eyes, but then I open them when I hear rattling in the air conditioning pipes. "Come on we're gonna miss it." I hear someone say and I look under my bed, hearing the sound come from here.
I open the vent and then I see aris crawling past my room. "Aris?" I ask, seeing him flinch at my presence. "Shit-" he whispers and I look at him, seeing stiles too. It's weird calling him Stiles, since I've been used to calling him Thomas.
I didn't call him Stiles because a part of me was still hesitant, but now that I remember, I know what I can do in order to get back. "What are you doing there?" He looks at me and sighs. "I'll show you,"
And he did.
We didn't talk, afraid it might be too loud. Eventually, we get to our destination. I was sweating because it was very hot up here, but I got there.
It was a bit larger for us so I could sit a little comfortable.
"What the hell are we doing here?" Stiles asks, and I look at him. "Ssh, come here, you're gonna miss it." He whispers and I look at the opening of the vent.
Dr. Crawford came, and she looks around before opening the door with her card. There was someone in a body bag, probably alive.
I saw the report of the vitals on a digital screen and my heart clenches for the poor thing trapped underneath it. Then I notice it wasn't one body bag. No, there were multiple going in.
When the door closes behind them, I look at Aris, confused. "What the hell was that?" I whisper, looking back down. "They bring in new one every night like clockwork." He sHs and I do not feel satisfied with the answer.
"You know what they do to them?" Stiles asks and Aris shakes his head slightly.
"I don't know, this is as far as I've ever gotten. The vents don't even go into that section." He says and I sigh. "Isn't that the east wing?" I whisper and they both look at me.
"We're at the east wing right now, where Janson promised new lives." I say and I shake my head in astonishment. Those fuckers. "Well, where ever we are, when they go in, they don't come out. I don't think anybody ever really leaves this place." Aris says and I shake my head.
"That's horrible." I whisper, letting out a shaky breathe. "Come on, we gotta go before somebody notices we're gone." Aris says and I'm ready to move.
"Why'd you show us this?" Stiles asks and both of us stops moving. "Because maybe the others will listen to you. There's something weird going on here and I know you think so too." He says and he moves, ready to go into the vent.
"Hey wait, what's your name?" Stiles asks and I look at him. "Aris." He says and then moves in.
. . .
The next morning, I walk into the cafeteria, looking at Stiles. I quickly walk over to him, and when I reach him, I give him the tightest hug I've ever given. "Woah, woah, there, what's wrong?" He asks and I look up at him.
"Stiles-" I whisper, letting a tear fall. "What did you say?" He whispers back and I nod. "I remember, Stiles." I say and smile. "I remember everything." His grip gets tighter and I burry my face in his chest.
