i just want to go home

When we got to the hotel I flopped down on the bed with my face in the pillows in frustration. How could he do this? My mate was supposed to love me and only me. We were supposed to start a family and live happily ever after but he made me feel as if I didn’t deserve love and never would.

                “Cade we should talk about this,” Dexter said as he sat on the bed beside me. I sensed Myra leave the room and I was sort of glad she did.

                “No we don’t,” I growled into the pillow.

                “Look at me Cade,” he said firmly and I couldn’t help but turn my head to look up at him. His gaze met mine and my heart skipped a beat at the look in them. I slowly sat up and faced him. He rested his hand on my cheek and smiled at me. I smiled back and suddenly his lips found mine and I couldn’t help but kiss him back. He pushed me back on the bed and hovered over top of me as he continued to kiss me. I wound my arms around his neck and tangled my fingers in his hair. His hands began to roam my body and I became breathless as my wolf yelled at me not to have sex with him but I shoved her aside. This wasn’t her business. I could do whatever I wanted and right now I wanted to do Dexter.

                I won’t go into full detail but let me tell you he blew my mind. Who knew he was that great in bed. If I would have known that I would have jumped his bones sooner.

                We both lay on the bed breathless. My head was on his chest and his arms were around my waist. I felt like I was in heaven just laying here in his arms. I wished it was Clayton but I was beginning to really like Dexter in other ways I haven’t before.

                “Cade?” he asked suddenly and I almost jumped out of my skin.

                “Yes?” I asked cautiously. Was he just going to shove me aside like Clayton did? How could I be so stupid? My heart began to race my palms began to sweat. I had been stupid enough to get close to another man and he was going to reject me as well.

                “Cade honey its okay take a breath,” he said in my ear and I took a deep breath. “I was just going to say that, that was the best sex I have ever had.” I smiled and looked up at him. I felt instantly better and a little embarrassed that I had believed he was going to push me away. I knew Dexter wasn’t like that but I was too scared to be hurt again.

                “I’m scared I will get hurt again,” I told him truthfully.

                “I will never hurt you Cade,” he said reassuringly. I turned my head to look at him and smiled at the look in his eyes. “I have known you a long time cadence and I guess over the years I grew to have feelings for you.”

                “I have feelings for you to Dexter but I want both of us to understand that this can’t go very far. As soon as you find your mate our relationship will go back to being friends and we will act like this never happened,” I said.

                “Agreed,” he smiled and pressed his lips to mine. For once in a year I felt in complete heaven. Clayton was always sweet and caring but Dexter had always been there for her no matter what.

                “Ready to go home?” Dexter asked as he lifted my bag into the rental car. Myra was already waiting in the back with a small smile on her lips.

                “Yes,” I sighed and kissed him before the two of us got into the car. Dexter pulled onto the high way. We had all agreed that driving home would be better than putting me back onto a plane. Dexter turned to smile and me and I couldn’t help but smile back. I never felt like I would ever feel this happy again.

                “Watch out!” Myra shouted and Dexter suddenly turned back to the road and slammed on the brakes as he spotted a small grey wolf with bright green eyes standing in the middle of the road.  I knew instantly that it was charity and she was trying to get rid of me once and for all. The car began to skid and the back end kicked out. I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out as the car headed towards the ditch. The car jolted and it was suddenly flipping over repeatedly. I felt my head hit the side window and things began to go black. Finally the car stopped flipping as it landed on the roof. I felt pain go through my whole body but my hand and head seemed to be the worse. I lifted my good hand to feel my hand and pulled away to see blood coating my hand.
