Summer 18 // a week after the luau // 10:20 am

It's been a week since Y/n's relapse. Usually, she wouldn't be staying in the clinic for too long... but with Harvey having none of her medical records in his office, he needed to do some digging, plus a little persuading to figure out what Y/n desperately needed.

Once Y/n had caved in and given him the information he needed, he prescribed her some mood stabilizers to take for a few months. Y/n protested against it, hating the way pills had made her feel back in Zuzu, including the way taking them reminded her that maybe she was never going to get better no matter where she ran.

But with a heavy heart, she leaves them on her desk side table in the clinic, stubbornly eyeing them down like they were her worst enemy.

Her stay wasn't too miserable though. Sebastian had accompanied her any time he was able. For the most part, he just sat there on his laptop doing work while she ranted about Harvey who kept nagging at her throughout her stay. But during the times she was asleep in his presence, he'd sit at her side and stare.

Oftentimes, he felt sort of creepy in a way. But he couldn't stop thinking about how she's been through so many obstacles in life and she's still struggling even now. He nearly cried once, thinking about how he could've done better to make her feel less unhappy. But when she woke the next few hours and smiled at him, grateful for his presence, he felt he had done more than enough just staying than to leave her all by herself.

As she pays the last of her money which was on her card from the city, seeing as Harvey was compliant enough to let her use debit, she sighs thinking about how all her savings from before had just gone down the drain.

She's all for supporting local businesses, but Harvey's prices were insane.

She hardly even tolerated the pills, now she had to pay for them with the last of her savings?

Glaring at Harvey as he bids her goodbye so sweetly, she leaves the clinic with Sebastian and Robin at her side. They don't seem to treat her any differently from before, which Y/n is grateful for. So she enjoys their presence greatly.

She had a few worried stares, on the way to her farm, making her quite nervous but Sebastian pulls her out of her head and points towards the clearing where they neared.

Shane is watering her crops, speaking to them softly when he doesn't realize he's being watched.

He has a chicken in one arm, and Y/n's watering can in the other. Her other existing farm animals, Teriyaki and a few more chickens she doesn't remember taking in are strolling around. Her plants are a beautiful, vibrant shade of green, her fences are sturdy and her house seemed quite different from before.

"Shane!" Y/n calls and the mother-son duo glued to her sides are smiling knowingly, hearing the familiar smile in her voice.

"Y/n! You're back!" He's slightly surprised, always wondering when she'd return and why she was taking so long but never really expecting or being ready for the time to come for when she's on her own two feet again.

"You've been taking care of the farm? For how long?" She nears him at an immense speed, Robin and Sebastian walking to her porch to watch them converse. Not Sebastian though. Instead, he cracked her door open enough just so his head could fit through, speaking to someone inside.

Y/n ignores it, focused on Shane.

"For the entire time you were gone. I don't know how you do it, kid. This fuckery is not for the weak." He huffs, glaring at the boots he had to buy from Pierre's on the second day of temporarily owning the farm.
