They weren't here to help.

One dragon huffed derisively.

Another let out a deep rumbling chuckle.

"Perhaps Crom Cruach is but a shadow of his former self."

"A disgrace to our kind."

Then, one voice cut through the murmurs-cold and hungry.

"We should eat him."

Crom's blood ran cold.

"What?!"

"It is our law, is it not? The strong devour the weak. It is the way of Evil Dragons."

Another dragon licked its fangs, grinning.

"His power, even if diminished, would make a fine meal."

Crom gritted his teeth, fury boiling within him.

"You bastards...! You dare strike me only when I'm weak?! Cowards!"

He forced himself to move-to rise-to fight-

But his body refused to obey.

His vision blurred. His limbs trembled.

Pain exploded in his skull.

"Damn it... No... NO! The Great Crom Cruach will not fall like this! Stay away from me, you bastards-!"

A massive shockwave erupted from the battlefield.

The encroaching dragons were blasted back as a single figure stepped forward.

The air grew thick with killing intent.

"Grrrrrr! Do you dare steal our prey?!"

"Unforgivable!"

"Let's teach this newcomer a lesson!"

But Crom Cruach only stared at his unexpected savior, his mind reeling.

"You... You're with that chicken bastard! Why... why save me?"

Fatalis glanced down at him.

She stomped his head into the dirt.

Crom choked on dust, his body spasming under the sheer weight of her power.

A suffocating chaotic aura pressed against his broken form.
