20 seasons. 20 dreadful-eventful seasons Zaava endured raising his cub. She had grown into a strong, beautiful creature. Kaia has learned so much living in the jungle. Adapting to her surroundings and maturing into a proud strong feline.

Zaava waited with his pack for Kaia as it was her turn to retrieve dinner for them. He nodded to the leader as they waited patiently. Hearing the sound of incoming rattles, they sat up straight as Kaia dropped down to view, holding two large bongos over her shoulder.

She dropped them in front of her as everyone dug in. Kaia flopped next to her father, growling softly at her cousins who have grown into large felines. Her eyes softened at their small cubs pouncing at the meat.

Kaia has already skinned them before bringing them to the family. She saw the gathered branches and grabbed two stones from the bag she made. Clashing them together, she brought fire back onto the dried grass and branches.

Snatching a leg from the dinner, she started cooking it quietly while her father dragged his part of the meal next to her.

"Father," she softly greeted him while observing her food.

"My daughter," Zaava nodded, observing her. He didn't miss the glance to the cubs earlier, silently smiling at them.

"Ka'rhan has been excited to see you again," Zaava spoke. Kaia chuckled, glancing back to the cubs tugging on the skin. "Troublemaker."

"I wonder who reminds me of him," Zaava looked up at her but Kaia smirked at him.

"It is curious. There's no doubt that he'll be a great hunter," she mused as she blew on the meat before eating.

Zaava hummed, glancing at his mate. His softened at the spot where she was supposed to be in. A few seasons ago, Sabor ventured out of the pack and left. Kaia knew it was her fault she left but Zaava assured her it wasn't.

Zaava looked up at the moon, seeing it brightly shining on them. He leaned his muzzle on his paw, relishing the heat of the flame as everyone gathered around it. He looked back to his daughter, seeing her playfully play with the cubs.

She growled playfully at them and ran away as they chased after her. One of them climbed over her and bit her arm but she laughed loudly as her deerskin covered it. She fell to the ground as the others pounced as they laughed.

Zaava's eyes softened, seeing Kaia finally accepted into the family. But knew she was so much more than this sheltered territory. His heart broke to know that she has yet to find a mate.

He almost feels bad for her future mate. She's challenging, playful, stubborn, and dangerous.

Zaava climbed on his tree, seeing Kaia tying the web tightly around her bow. It arched strongly and held it in her hands. She proudly observed it, seeing the claw markings her father caused.
