dating your sister: JJ talks to John B about the secret you two have been hiding and as your brother, John B gives him advice.

"You gotta tell him today," Y/n grumbled in her half asleep state as she shut her alarm off, "I'm sick of waking up at five a.m. to sneak you out to the couch." The sun was barely starting to peak over the horizon as I slid my shirt over my head and kissed her on the cheek.

We've been dating for almost four months and have been great at keeping it a secret. Sneaking flirty glances, only showing affection in her room or when no one was home, sneaking out to the couch before her brother woke up.

"I'll tell him while you're at work, get some more sleep, love you." I hovered over her for a minute to just look at her, soak in how gorgeous she was and how lucky I am to be loved by her.

"Love you, too." She replied and I let my hand slip from hers as I snuck to the couch to pretend I had been there all night.

*four hours later*

"Y/n leave for work already?" John B asked as he walked down the hallway from his room rubbing his eyes. Y/n worked the morning shift at a surf shop in town so from eight to three she was gone.

"Yeah, I heard her leave like an hour and a half ago." I informed him. My hands threw the blanket off of me and I sat up on the couch, placing my feet on the ground also beginning to rub my eyes.

"Did she eat?" Her brother asked. Of course she ate, I made sure of it myself. But I had to make myself seem clueless so he didn't start asking questions before I could talk to him about it. So I shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know, man. I heard some cupboards open so probably." I answered. He plopped down on the couch next to me and kicked his feet onto the coffee table, "I got a question for you."

"Your brain is working this early in the morning?" He joked and I responded with a sarcastic 'ha-ha' before getting serious again.

"How mad would you be if I was, uh, hooking up with your sister?" Okay, now that those words left my mouth I think I should've worded them differently, "Well, not 'hooking-up', but, dating. If I was dating your sister."

"I would tell you I'm not stupid and I know you've been sneaking into her room for..." He held his hand to his chin and pretending to be deep in thought, "I don't know, like, three or four months now."

"Why didn't you say anything then?" I asked in disbelief. I was so sure Y/n and I had been good at sneaking around. Is this a twin-telepathy thing? Does this mean whatever she thinks, he thinks, too? Oh god, I sure hope not.

"I just knew but I wasn't going to pry, it only makes her pull away." He told me and I nodded my head. He wasn't wrong. I learned that pretty quick with Y/n, if she wants to talk then she'll talk, if not and you try to make her then she'll pull away, "Plus, she's been happier lately. Like, Maybank type of happy."

"Maybank type of happy?" I questioned. Since when was that a thing?

"Yeah, she's got this certain smile when you're around and her eyes light up." He held his hands over his eyes and opened them for a visual, "You've got it, too. I see the way you look at her."

"I can't help it, dude. How is your sister so...hot and you're so, not?" I laughed at my own joke and even John B exhaled a small laugh against his will, probably not expecting me to say that.

"She's more than a pretty face though, JJ. She's my sister, she'd let you walk all over her if it meant you were happy." He got serious as he looked at me, "So if you want my blessing, or whatever, then you gotta do all the cheesy stuff that comes along with it."

"Cheesy stuff? I thought she was lactose intolerant?" I furrowed my brows. John B rolled his eyes and smacked the back of my head. Am I missing something here?

"No, dumbass, cheesy stuff. Buy her flowers, take her on small dates, dance with her in the rain." He listed off things I should do for her and I realized we haven't gotten to do any of those things yet. We've been so caught up with keeping our relationship a secret I now felt bad for only being able to sleep next to her and kiss her behind closed doors.

"Do you think she hates me cause I haven't done any of that for her?" I asked. Worried I'm already a shitty boyfriend for not doing a single thing he listed, "Cause I really like her, man, I've never felt this way about someone before."

"She could never hate you, but what I recommend." He put his hand on my shoulder, "You've got six hours to plan something, I'll help since I know what she likes."

I didn't even know where to start. It needed to be special and something she wasn't expecting, "Oh, I've got it!" I held my hands up in excitement, "I'll get her flowers and take her to dinner somewhere nice."

"JJ, you don't have money for either of those things," John B let his head fall and I sighed in defeat, "Pick wildflowers, she's a sucker for those blue ones. Don't spend any money, it'll make her feel bad."

"Okay, wildflowers, got it." I chimed, soaking in all of the information he was providing me with. Whatever he told me to do, I'd do, as long as it made his sister happy, "What next?"

"Next, you're going to..."

Cliffhangerrrrrr

I wanted to try and make this one kind of interactive if that makes sense, so, you guys pick the date. I'm just kinda in the mood to write some fluff and I was thinking maybe I could make JJ super awkward and nervous since he's never really been 'in love' before.

So, comment what you think the perfect first date betweeen JJ and Y/n would be and I'll write it :) in a couple days I'll make a part 2! And if no one comments (I really hope people do if not this'll be kinda awkward) then I'll come up with something or maybe we'll be stuck with a cliffhanger forever.
