"You're still thinking about him, aren't you?"Jaemin sneered, his eyes winded and brows raised with a 'knowing look' gestured towards Donghyuck.
"Of course I am! He pissed me off," Donghyuck exclaimed with a huff.
The two best friends were cleaning the pub while listen to music from the jukebox before they locked up: sweeping and mopping the floors, wiping down the counter top and tables with disinfectant rags, cleaning beverage machines, and washing any left over dishes that had not been cleaned yet.
"You're thinking about him because you're interested in him," Jaemin assured with a smug grin as he untied his apron to hang it up.
"Oh yeah, I'm interested..." Donghyuck paused before sarcastically continuing, "in torturing him!"
Jaemin rolled his eyes knowingly as Donghyuck removed his own apron and hung it up besides Jaemin's. He headed to the cashier towards the end of the countertop, counting the money to make sure they either exceed his previous amount or they are they same as the previous amount to make sure no money was missing.
"Come to think of it," Jaemin began. "Why did he pay so much for a glass of water?"
Donghyuck shrugged, "I don't know and I don't care. More money in my pocket."
"Who comes to a pub just to order water though?" Jaemin asked as Donghyuck locked cash register up. "It's on the house."
"Well serves him right for being an asshole. Its the least he could do after humiliating me on front people Donghyuck sassily replied.
Jaemin scoffed, "It was just me in here!"
"Exactly my point," Donghyuck claimed as the youngest of the two went over to the jukebox.
Jaemin stopped the music playing as the two were now about to exit the pub. Donghyuck made sure he had his business keys as he shut off all the lights in the building, exiting the french doors as he locked it behind.
They walked amongst the midst of the night, the streets on this end of the city were dim and the vision of in front of their eyes were faint. Jaemin and Donghyuck always walked home together after work since they practically live with one another and it was safer to walk with someone at night.
Jaemin and Donghyuck shared an apartment, but Donghyuck often spent his time staying over his grandparents house to check on them and help them move about the place. He had been doing this since he first began high school, his grandmother barely living while his grandfather was able to do a bit more but not much.
They were very sick.
His grandparents needed help and Donghyuck loves them so much since they are his only other family he has here, besides his best friend of course. He was doing the best he could to take care of them and nurse them because he refused to place them in a nursing home.
He has heard too many stories about how some nursing homes treat their patients and Donghyuck was uncomfortable sending his grandparents there. They would be safer and better taken care of by him anyway.
It was the sole reason he agreed to run the pub when he turned eighteen because his grandparents were no longer physically able to do so. After graduating from a community college and earning his associates degree in finance last month, he was solely dedicated on his work at the pub.
Even though not many customer's came and it was not the best money, he knew how much it meant to his grandparents because they had opened it up together when they had gotten married forty seven years ago with love. And now that his grandparents were nearing their mid seventies, it was his turn to keep it open for them.
