"Why thank you, kind sir." I said to JJ in a british accent as he held the door of The Wreck open for me. He wanted to go out on a lunch date so we decided to come here, it was also a way for us to keep Kie entertained during her shift.

"Anything for m'lady." He copied the accent and we both laughed. Kiara sent us a wave and a happy smile from behind the counter and pointed to a table for us to sit at. After JJ pushed my chair in he sat across from me, "What are you getting?"

"I honestly have been craving chicken strips, so probably that," I snickered, "and fries, of course." Since I knew what I wanted I didn't even have to bother looking at the menu.

"You and your chicken strips." JJ smiled and looked through the menu. He refused to get the same thing every time, claiming he needed to 'expand his flavor palette', so he was looking for something he's never had before, "Shrimp tacos, now that sounds like something I'd like."

"So get them, bill is on me." I assured and squeezed his hand. His jaw clenched in slight annoyance and I furrowed my brows, what did I do wrong? I decided against bringing it up since Kie was coming over to take our order.

"Let me guess, two Pepsis, order of chicken strips and whatever JJ is craving," She held the pen to her lips and I nodded my head, confirming her guess was correct.

"I'm gonna try the shrimp tacos." He told our friend as he grabbed both of our menus and handed them to her, "On Y/n, of course." As if it was a snap at me he looked away quickly and to the window. Kie awkwardly grabbed the menus and walked back behind the counter.

"What's up your ass today?" I asked and lightly kicked his foot under the table to gain his attention. He didn't speak, just moved his legs so my feet could no longer reach them, "Earth to JJ?" I waved my hand. When he still didn't look at me I slouched in my chair, crossing my arms over my chest, "Don't get what I did, but whatever, so much for a cute date."

"I worked an extra shift so I could take you out today," JJ stated, still refusing to look at me, "But, like always, you and your kook money can handle it, right? Kook." I was taken back by his words, never once has JJ ever referred to me as a 'kook'. It wasn't my fault I grew up in Figure-8 and the pogues knew that and never held it against me. I was a pogue, through and through.

"Did you just call me a kook?" I questioned, leaning forward and feeling myself getting irritated, "Cause I swear to god, JJ—"

"What, Y/n? You'll what?" He looked at me, his jaw tight in anger, "You've got everything in the world, don't worry about little old me. The dirty pogue from the wrong side of the island." Before I could even respond he stood up from the table and walked towards the door of The Wreck.

"JJ!" I called out, trying to get him to come back and explain his outburst. I wanted to run after him but I knew Kie would be returning any second with our food and I'd feel horrible leaving our friend with an unpaid for meal.

"Trouble in paradise?" Kie asked as she brought my basket of chicken strips and fries to the table, "JJ's is almost ready." I couldn't take my eyes off the door, my leg now anxiously bouncing under the table.

"Can I get his in a to-go box? Mine too, actually?" I asked. She nodded her head and grabbed me a to-go box and I slipped my food inside, "He called me a kook."

"Wait, are you serious?" Kie asked and sat down where JJ just was to have a conversation, "What's up his ass today?"

"I don't know, I offered to pay and he got all pissed off." Mike had brought out JJ's meal and scolded Kiara for sitting on the job, "If he thinks I'm going to run after him, he's dead wrong."
