What would he want?

Was a question Texas asked himself when he was doubting himself.

Would younger Texas be proud of current Texas?

The answer was maybe, kind of.

Younger Texas could not even fathom where politics are right now. He'd probably die from how loose they are compared to when he was a new state.

Though younger Texas would be so proud of one aspect of his life.

Next to the southern state there was a sleeping westerner.

The younger Texas would never admit it but he wanted this. He wanted one person to be his, and he got that person.

Sometimes he wondered how he did it, since by all accounts he was a walking red flag. Though California also had their fair share of problems, but they tried to work those out together. Though at times like this— when it was only them, he felt as if all of the worlds problems faded away. He couldn't help but watch the other state and be absolutely love struck.

He always was, and he doesn't think he'll ever stop being in love.

This was all a younger him had wanted, all that he craved, and now he finally had it. California.

When the two first met they hit it off almost immediately. They were best friends from day one. Though somewhere along the line Texas wanted more, and as time passed those feelings became stronger. Now those feelings were reciprocated.

The golden state moved himself closer to the other state, causing the other to feel an immediate high in temperature.

He still felt so weird inside when the golden state was near him, sometimes he'd look across the room and catch the other staring back at him, or when the other state told him he looked good today, or when the other held his hand, it always managed to make him flustered. He was an absolute mess when it came to the other state. He couldn't help but feel like he was in the middle of the Sahara when near the other.

"Te amo mi amor."
