Not many customers came in today, but it was more than Donghyuck usually would get. On his birthday, he had to work double the amount he originally would have.

It did not bother him however. He enjoyed working there and keeping himself busy, especially if it meant his grandparents would be happy.

Currently, Donghyuck was cleaning the pub—wiping the cleaning products off the tables and counters and sweeping and mopping the black and white tiles—while he danced to music.

Donghyuck pretended he was having his own concert and he was the main singer and dancer. He is the main character of his own show.

He acted as if his broom was a mic stand, leaning it down with his body as he sung loudly. His voice echoed in the empty pub and he was lucky this building strip rarely had people attending.

Donghyuck was being silly and having time by himself on his birthday and he did not mind it at all. He did enjoy his own company, however, he did wish Jaemin was present.

"Wow. I'm glad you're not selling tickets to see you jump around like a child," a voice loudly interrupted Donghyuck's performance, making him freeze.

Donghyuck quickly turned around and saw his best friend—it was like his wishes had been heard—standing there with a little box and gift bag in his hold.

Donghyuck rolled his eyes, going over to lower the music while speaking. "You scared the shit out of me."

"Who else would it be?" Jaemin tsked, setting down the box and bag on the counter before making his way over to the older to embrace him.  Donghyuck hummed as Jaemin spoke again, "Happy birthday."

"Thank you," Donghyuck smiled widely as he wiggled out of Jaemin's grasp. "Lemme see what you got me!"

"Wow, I come all the way from my parents house to celebrate your birthday and you only care about what I got you?" Jaemin jokingly asked, placing a hand over his chest.

"Mmm, yes."

"Rude," Jaemin rolled his eyes playfully as he handed the bag to Donghyuck to open.

Donghyuck's face beamed with excitement as he pulled out the paper that covered the gift inside. Though, Donghyuck's smile instantly dropped when he looked inside.

A flash mixed with laughter gathered Donghyuck's attention as he saw Jaemin finding it hard to control himself.

"Jaemin?! What the fuck is this?!" Donghyuck irritatedly asked the younger who was practically face planting the counter to mask his laughs.

"Oh god!" Jaemin wheezed as he lifted his face, showing Donghyuck the photo he took of the older. "Your face is golden!"

"Ha ha. Very funny," Donghyuck sarcastically spoke, putting the bag back down on the counter.

"Oh come on! It was funny! And besides, it'll come to good use," Jaemin winked as Donghyuck slapped his shoulder.

"I hate you so much."

"I love you too, best friend!"

Jaemin was still giggling as he reached for the box, undoing the lid which revealed a small chocolate cake that had a little bear on it.

Donghyuck's face brightened again, forgetting the atrocious gift Jaemin bought for him. Jaemin jogged behind the counter to grab a knife and plates and forks, slicing a piece of cake for the older and himself.

They sat on the stools of the counter as they ate their cake. Donghyuck really loved chocolate cake and this might be the best one he received yet because of the little bear on it.
