"What if we just hung out on the boat?" I asked Kie. I texted her a few hours into my shift and told her how bored I was so she came up to the surf shop. Today I was running the shop by myself so I didn't have to worry about my manager yelling at me.

"It's a date, Y/n, not our usual every day lives," She joked and I rolled my eyes as I restocked some board wax on the counter, "It needs to be special and intimate, just you two spending time together."

I let my mind wonder. What could I do to surprise him? Then a brilliant idea came to mind, "Kie, you're a genius."

"I didn't even say anything." She laughed and hopped off the counter to lean next to me by the register, "But you're welcome."

"What time is it?" I asked, my phone was charging in the back room since I left it unplugged last night on accident.

"Two-thirty." She answered, slipping her phone back into its place in her pocket. We spent the last half hour of my shift goofing off and helping customers when they came in. If I didn't work here I'd swear Kiara was an employee, she knew where everything was, helped with stock, and even rang customers up sometimes.

Three o'clock rolled around and we decided to return to the chateau together since that's where we were both heading anyway.

"Hey, boys!" I greeted my brother and boyfriend. Kie took her usual spot on the porch and smiled at JJ in an 'I know your secret' type of way which made me laugh.

"Hey, sis, JJ told me some interesting stuff today." John B slung his arm over my shoulders and I rolled my eyes. I knew JJ would be telling him about us today so his teasing wouldn't work, "Tell me this, when JJ asked you out, was it super romantic?"

"Oh, fuck off," I shrugged him away and everyone began laughing, "I'm stealing you." I pointed to JJ and he looked confused, his finger pointing to his own chest, "Yes, you, let's go." I continued and grabbed his hand into mine.

"You love birds have fun!" Kie shouted. When I looked over my shoulder I saw her and my brother fist bump and I stifled a laugh.

I knew the surf shop was in walking distance so when we rounded the front of the chateau we began our walk, "Where are we going?" JJ asked. I swung our hands back and forth with a smile on my lips.

"A surprise." I answered. He looked a bit flustered and nervous, "I planned us a first date." In a way to help calm his nerves I made sure he knew what we were doing.

"About that," JJ began and stopped us on the sidewalk, "John B and I kind of already planned our first date." I looked up at him. He had my brother help him plan our first date?

"You're taking love advice from my brother?" I chuckled, "What did you guys plan?"

"First, I'd give you flowers," He began, he looked down to his empty hand and panicked for a moment before rushing over to the tree line and picking a few of my favorite blue wildflowers. They grew everywhere so I wasn't surprised he found some easily. After rushing back over he handed them to me, blush crept onto my cheeks, "Then I was going to take you surfing during sunset."

I smiled up at him, not believing how in sync our minds were, "Well, you'll be happy to hear that both of our ideas work perfect." He once again furrowed his brows but instead of explaining this time I tugged him along with me.

We stood at the front door of the surf shop, which was now closed for the day, as I unlocked the door, "Is this legal?" JJ asked over my shoulder and I shrugged.
