it was a cold january night and malia was stood next to jamie carragher and gary neville as they were live on sky sports for the build up to chelsea against fulham.[I cant remember who was actually covering it that day so went with them two😭]
she was listening to jamie speak, quickly looking at the pitch behind her, where all the players were warming up.
"malia, obviously you were at cobham and saw the new signing training and interview him, what was the vibe you got?" the question confused her for some reason but she just nodded before speaking.
"well, he seems to be settling very well from what i saw. he seemed to be getting on well with the teammates as well but it's hard to tell if he is going to hit the floor running in the prem until you see him in a match. i do believe he is a great addition to the team from what I have seen so far"
both of the ex-players agreed with the topic of the buildup being joao as he prepared to play his first match for the london club.
malia had backed joao based on performances she had seen when she had gone back and watched videos of his highlights last week and she had been impressed to say the least.
all the players left the pitch to get ready but malia didn't fail to notice the smile that joao shot at her which she returned.
—
the match had not gone well at all for chelsea, especially for joao felix, as he had been sent off with a red card.she had watched him storm of the pitch with a mix of frustration and disappointment along with sadness. she felt the urge to follow him down the tunnel but knew that would look suspicious and she can't do that.
malia felt bad for the guy but she walked to her car after a long night and was very ready to get home and hop into bed.
her thoughts were stopped as she put her hand on the handle of her door but heard shouting coming from a couple cars down. she stopped and tried to look over and recognised the fluffy brown hair.
"magui, can you please just stay in for tonight with me. it's been a shit night and i just want to see you rather than worrying about where you are" she kept quiet as she listened on, even though she knew she really shouldn't invade his privacy like this.
"whatever. there is no point in you being in london with me if i never see you, you might as well go back to portugal"
'ouch, that must sting' she thought before hearing the beep coming from his phone signalling he had hung up.
"joao?" his head shot around and looked at the girl.
"i didn't mean to listen on but i hope you are okay. don't worry about that red card, I know it's annoying but mistakes happen and you have the rest of the season. before that you had had a great game"
she smiled at him before getting into her car and leaving the car park.
joao tried to ignore the warmth that had spread over his body as she spoke the words that he had wanted to hear from his own girlfriend for years. all he and wanted was consistent support, not just when it suited her brand, and no scandals.
