Wrapped up evening

Nora POV

The wooden floor beneath me was warm and the couch I leaned against was giving me the comfort I needed for so long. Sometimes I love sitting on the ground even though I have plenty of other sitting options.
Since I practically dragged Lizzie down to the ground she decided to stay here even though she switches her sitting position a lot which means she might not be as comfortable on the ground as I am but it's warming my heart anyways that she insists on staying next to me with our shoulders touching.

I honestly wouldn't wanna be in another place right now then being here with everyone. Scar was next to Cobie and her legs where dangling over Cobies thighs. Lesley had her arm around Beth's shoulder while she had her head resting on her.
The sun started to set and the natural light was giving a golden touch to our surrounding.

„Cobie how's the hotel doing?" I asked and she chuckled.

„Great actually. Guests are visiting with a huge smile and leave with a slightly sad face cause well..
they gotta go back to work. Oh and we are building a new wellness section. You and Lizzie should come and check it out some time."
Scar hit Cobie with the last sentence which I understood immediately.

I glance to my left and saw Lizzie blushing a bit while she was pouring herself her second glass of wine. We both staid silent not saying anything about that comment but I feel like I need to say something to break the ice.

„Is it kid friendly?" I asked to make everyone laugh.

„No not really. I don't knowing you forgot it or not but my hotel is an adults only hotel... But y'know you don't have to try it. I was just offering and the instructors haven't even finished working on it yet. It's just a new addition to the hotel."

„Good I am glad that the hotel works. It definitely sounds tempting." I answered before I sipped on my glass.

„What about you scar? Anything new?" I asked and she let out a sigh.

„Well I got a new working partner for training the team." she told me and I raised my brows a bit surprised that she needs someone to help her.

„You do? Well that's great. Isn't it?" I asked and she shook her head.

„No not really. He's a pain in the ass. I can't stand him at all and I have to work with him because your father ordered it so. I don't know what drove into his mind to offer this asshole such a job."

„And I am not happy about it either." Cobie mumbled and I heard a hint of jealousy coming from her.

„She's just jealous of him because he gets to see me in tight gym wear." Scar joked which made Cobie role her eyes.

„Oh I am not jealous of that. I am the only one who can see you butt naked, so screw him.
He's just unnecessary weight for the whole team. I've noticed that in the last games. He has an effect on all of you."

„Cobie is right. He changed a lot. As if he is the boss." Scar told me and that sounds awful.

„Well you better put him in his place then. I know you can handle it and you've got this Scar. Your the best coach." I told her and that mad her smile.

„I hate to break it to you guys but It's time for me to head off. My night sift starts in two hours and I need to go home and change." Lesley announced as she peaked at her clock.

„Bestie I'll tangle along with her. But I'll see you in the next couple of days." Beth added and I smiled towards them starting to pull myself up with the crutches to guide them to the exit.

„Of course. Stay safe Lesley and you have a good night." I hugged them after they opened the door.

„Thank you both again for being here and for all the support." I added.

„Of course bestie."
„Your welcome" they both replied at the same time.

„Kiss the kids good night for me." Beth added as they got into their car to drive off.
I closed the door after the car wasn't visible anymore and walked back into the living room seeing how all of them carry the glasses and plates into the kitchen.

„Guys you don't need to clean up I'll handle it later." they all glared at me while Scar and Cobie raised their brow and Lizzie tilted her head slightly as if I said some dumb shit.

„You are not going to do it with that." she pointed at my crutches and I looked down letting out a sigh.

„Yeah. Right. I forgot about that for a sec."
I answered and they laughed shortly.

„I have to train my beasts early tomorrow and Cobie needs to drive back to the hotel." scar announced hinting that they need to leave too which I totally understand.

„Of course. You gotta make your team win this season for me Scar. I wanna see you in the finals coach." I told her as I walked into the kitchen.

„You're damn right I will. Every win is for you."
She added and I smiled giving her a nod.

Cobie and Scar took their belongs and now I walked them to the door with Lizzie beside me.

„I'll see you tomorrow." Lizzie told Scar as they hugged quick.

„I hope to see you in my hotel soon. Both of you!"
Cobie told us and I smiled at her in a thankful way.

„Good night you too. Drive safe!" I told them as we all hugged goodbye. Lizzie and I watched them drive off and I was still standing there looking into the forest that surrounded us. I froze for a moment as If I was trying to remember something that happened out there in front or my house.
But it's not clicking in my mind and that bugs me the most.

„Are you okay?" I heard Lizzie beside me feeling her warm hand stroke my back up and down.

„Hmm yeah. I am just tired let's get inside. I need to bring the kids to bed." I told her and she closed the door for me so that I wouldn't have to do it.
