For @shckeme! Love ya!

"We should go to the diner."
I said looking up from my book.

"The diner? Why?"
Mick asked.

"Because, we haven't been in a while and it won't be very busy. Besides, they have those cute mini jukeboxes on the tables and I'm in the mood for music."
I pointed out.

"No."
Mick said.

"What? Why not?"
I asked, surprised by his blantant denial.

"Because I'm tired and all I want to do is just relax and watch TV."
He gritted, clearly annoyed.

"Fine. You don't have to go. I'll go by myself."
I said shutting my book, getting up from the couch, and heading to my bedroom to grab some clothes.
I quickly put on a pair of jeans and a crewneck Dodgers hoodie before grabbing my Converse. I sat on the edge of the bed to put them on when Mick came into our bedroom and began to grab clothes from the closet.

"What're you doing?"
I asked softly, slipping my left shoe on and beginning to lace it up.

"You're crazy if you think I'm letting you go out by yourself."
He grumbled.

"I can handle myself. Go watch TV."
I snapped, putting my right shoe on.

"I would rather go to the diner and have peace of mind."
Mick said, buttoning the jeans he'd grabbed.

"Don't even bother if you're going to have that bullshit attitude the entire time."
I sassed grabbing my purse from where it sat on my dresser.

"I don't have an attitude. Let's go."
Mick said simply before walking out of our bedroom to the living room and out the front door.
I sighed, locking and shutting the door behind me. I made my way to the car and once I was in and buckled, Mick drove off towards the diner.

"Why'd you come?"
I asked softly.

"I told you. For peace of mind."

"Of what exactly?"

"Knowing that I'm still entertaining you and you don't find some guy in their mid-20s to replace me."
Mick said, his grip on the steering wheel tightening.

"That's what this is about?"
I asked, turning to look at him. Which wasn't by much considering I had my seatbelt on.

"I just- you're beautiful y'know. And I know that's not your fault. But I worry sometimes that some guy is going to come up to you and you'll forget about me."

"Oh Mick. I couldn't forget about you."
I cooed.

"Yeah, yeah. I know. All I'm saying is I worry about you. You're young and beautiful, and you're too damn nice."
He smiled looking over at me.

"And I love you. Too much to just leave you in a damn diner by yourself."
Mick chuckled.

"I love you too. Thank you for coming out with me, even if you did just want to watch TV."
I said reaching over the console and grabbing his hand.

"Sure babe, besides, I wanna see if they changed the songs in the jukebox or if they're still the same."
He joked.

I laughed and we talked about little things on the way there until Mick pulled into the parking lot. He parked and we made out way into the diner, immediately going to our usual booth, the one in the corner, but still by a window.

"Food or just drinks, babe?"
Mick asked, shrugging his leather off.

"Just a cherry shake I think, maybe some fries too."
