The next day, Neteyam walked to Tatia's hut, around mid day. He had just got his tattoo done and it was printed on his shoulder and upper arm. Tatia didn't answer so he took it upon himself to walk in, looking around the room.
The girl was sat on her bed with her mothers necklace in her lap, not doing anything but just staring at it.
"Tatia?" Neteyam asked quietly as he kneeled down in front of her, placing his spear next to hers on the wall. "What's wrong Sweetheart?"
If she had been feeling better, the girl would've blushed at the new nickname but what had occurred last night had caused her to go into what seemed like a lockdown. "Who are you, Neteyam? Do you know who you are?"
The warrior sighed, placing his hand on her knee. "I am Neteyam te Sully Tsyeyk'itan, eldest child of Toruk Makto and Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at'ite, the greatest warriors of the forest, warrior of the forest and ocean, Son of a chief and war leader. I am a man who fell in love with a hybrid girl whos a powerful leader but also the daughter of a chief and war leader. That's who I am."
Tatia sighed, biting her lip as tears pricked her eyes. "Why is it so hard for me to know who I am? I haven't slept, I've been thinking about it all night." Neteyam kneeled, his hand moving to rest on her upper thigh which got her attention and made her look down at him. "Because you're different. That makes it harder."
"I want to know what happened, Teyam. I don't care what it costs me." The man nodded with a small smile as he stood, holding out his hand which she took for him to help bring her up. Neteyam took both their spears from the wall and handed her one to her.
"Thank you." Tatia smiled as she walked to the door, leading the way to the spirit tree, somewhere he hadn't yet been.
Neteyam slowly slid his hand into hers as they walked down to the beach. "I think the tattoo looks really good on you, by the way." She smirked as did Neteyam who chuckled, pushing his chest out. "Really?" "Don't let it raise your ego, it's high enough already."
