Hermit wakes with a very bad headache but he knew it was his fault since he had allowed himself to lose control over something he shouldn't have.
He swings his legs from the bed, setting them on the cold floor and a small figure caught his attention, he knew it was Fay, sleeping after being exhausted from all the work and wait he put her through over the night. He was sure she had hoped he would wake up at some time of the time so he would dismiss her. Her luck.
It was still dawn and the workers are only beginning to wake. He strides to the sleeping form and lightly touch her shoulder making her to wake up with a kick.
''you are dismissed Fay.'' He spoke. His voice was coarse, either from lack of water or blood, he didn't know which.
He couldn't tell why she is still alive yet; all his previous chamber maids died few day after being assigned to him although what contributed to that was because he couldn't communicate with them and they failed to understand him which easily angered him. But with Fay, it's different, he could speak to her and she some how intrigues him. Especially those brown eyes of hers.
''thank you, my Lord.'' She thanked him trying to stand up with her protesting body, although she is a maid but sleeping on the floor has never happened to her as Madam Kate was like a mother to her and made sure she never lacked anything.
Sleeping on the floor last night was new and not nice. She noted because her body aches.
However, Hermit did not acknowledge her, he only walked to his closet while she hurriedly left the room.
Fay rounded the last corner to the kitchen when she bumped into Amanda, Amanda had a snarl plastered on her face.
''Amanda. Did you know I would get into trouble serving the prince yet you pleaded with me to do it using some lame excuse?'' Fay asked. She wasn't dull to not notice Amanda's snarls every time she's close to her or passing by, at first, she didn't want to be irrational but this was the bitter truth.
''I couldn't help it; Jack always have his eyes on you when everyone knows how much I love him.'' Amanda spoke.
Fay inhaled a sharp breath. ''You almost killed me over something we could have discussed? I never loved Jack. I didn't know you were this evil.'' Fay said, she was very hurt. Jack is a palace guard she never saw a future with, never even thought of him so, she could have been six feet under over someone she never cared about? That was insane.
''Stay away from me at all cost Amanda. Your life is mine to take, so cherish your days.'' Fay knew her words sounded evil, even her look said same thing but she didn't know where she got such attitude from. It couldn't be that spending only few days with the prince has influence her already.
Amanda stares at her with wide eyes due to shock but Fay wasn't bothered, instead she walked past her with a smirk on her face.
********
Fay walked pass the game room, it's been a month since she has been assigned to Prince Hermit's chamber, and for a month the king has been away doing kingly duties.
So far, Prince Hermit has been changing attitudes, he's polar sometimes unlike Prince Venus, who always walks about with only one emotion; anger.
She couldn't tell the lesser evil among the princes; they all are evil minded and mysterious.
''Mother, what do you think about the hunting?'' that was Prince Emmett's voice, Fay has become very accustomed to their voices and even their remarks sometimes.
