•Chapter 52•

A week had flew by, meaning that their mission was approaching in only three more days left.

Donghyuck and the NCT members had been training nonstop and establishing organized plans and polishing/fixing weapons during this time.

Everything had to be perfect, but of course nothing is perfect which is where the back up plans come in.

Donghyuck's body was physically becoming stronger with only a week and half works of training.

Mark was proud of him—even though the younger constantly complained about being sore from the previous day's training....and from other activities that the younger was rewarded of after completing everything.

In the process of training, there had been many arguments, frustrations, tears etc.. that came from Donghyuck and Mark.

But this only made them closer and strengthened their bond because at the very end of the day, they were connected as one and loved each other so much.

It was becoming very stressful as the time drew closer to the mission date.

Currently this evening, Mark, Jeno, and Donghyuck were heading to the pub to visit jaemin because it was his birthday.

They could not visit for long because they have to get back to work, but Donghyuck would never miss his best friends birthday for the world.

Jeno was coming because Jaemin texted him at midnight saying that he wanted to see him and the older obviously suspected it was because of them being soulmates.

Mark was coming to make sure nothing happens to his soulmate, not that anything will or that Jeno can not be with him, but he just wants to make sure.

And besides, Jeno will be too lovestruck with Jaemin to focus on Donghyuck so that was why Mark was here today.

Usually Shotaro would attend these things with Donghyuck, but everyone in NCT are training hard to perfect their skills just in case they were needed to be called out into the field.

So as the leader of NCT Dream, Donghyuck's soulmate, and Jeno's best friend Mark came.

Arriving at the unpopular strip where the pub was located, the three of them got out of Mark's luxury car—Donghyuck had a little gift bag with him and Jeno carried the cake.

Mark stood there for emotional support as Donghyuck rolled his eyes at him.

"You won't let me hold anything," Mark whined as Donghyuck shook his head.

"Open the door," Donghyuck commanded as Mark scurried in front of him to push the door open.

"Woah," Jeno began with a shocked expression. "I think you guys just swapped personalities."

Mark raised his hand in the air, threatening to hit him as Jeno quickly ran inside to see Jaemin with a surprised expression on his face behind the counter.

Mark and Donghyuck followed behind Jeno, the youngest of the three running towards Jaemin behind the counter to give his best friend a hug.

"Happy birthday!" Donghyuck squealed as he squeezed his best friend, Jaemin aggressively tapping Donghyuck's back.

"Thanks, Hyuck but I can't breathe!" Jaemin choked out as Donghyuck loosened his grip with a giggle.

"Wah, you've been working out?" Jaemin asked with a head tilt as they released their hug.

Donghyuck smiled, looking back at Mark who winked and scrunched his cutely at the younger before looking back at Jaemin with a small shrug.

"Something like that," Donghyuck answered.
