~Chapter 28~

I walk through the woods towards the river to get some water and hum gently, stepping over a few sticks and over to the river, putting my bucket in and filling it with water. I pull the bucket out and walk towards my cave again, I hear footsteps behind me and someone grabs my wrapping their arm around my chest.

"Hey there beautiful." A male voice coos. Not Ingressus's voice.

"Let GO of me!" I scream and struggle.

"Grab her arms." The male says and I feel two more males grab my arms as I twist and kick.

"You're coming back with us," Another male voice purrs.

"No!" I yell and reach for my bucket before one of the males kisses me forcing me towards him.

"STOP! PLEASE!" I cry and start actually crying.

"Who do you think is going to come help you, beautiful?" Another male purrs and I stop. Ingressus... Let's just hope he's nearby.

(Ingressus Pov.)

I walk towards Addy's cave and spin my sword several times to entertain myself.

"HELP! PLEASE!" I hear a female scream and hear a loud shriek before it is cut off. I stop, perking my ears as the voice rings out again, less loud. "Ingressus!"

I stop and drop the blankets I was carrying, drawing my sword and charging down the road towards the voice. I dodge several trees and draw my sword, igniting it and running faster at the sound of sobbing. I run into the open and several males turn towards me, holding Addy. I growl lowly and then charge towards them, cutting one of the males across his chest. I kill the others then look up at the last male holding Addy. My hands and face stained with blood.

"Let. Her. GO." I snarl and step forward. "And I might consider sparing your life."

He stumbles back at bit and I see his lip quiver.

"H-he k-kissed me." Addy stutters and I look up at him with daggers before charging forward, grabbing her arm and pulling her close to me then stabbing him in the stomach. He lets out a pained groan before I slowly twist the sword.

"No one hurts. Her." I say narrowing my eyes and twisting quickly twist it, push it further into his stomach and yank it out. He falls down as his markings fade away and I turn towards Addy, hugging her tightly. She whimpers and I look at all of the bodies scattered. And that is one time where the Deathsinger really shows.

"Are you ok?" I ask and she nods.

"I'm fine." She says.

"Alright let's go back. We shouldn't stay in this wasteland." I scoff and lead her back towards her cave. We walk in and she goes over and sits down on her bed, pressing her hands into the blankets.

"I feel awful." She says. "Like sick."

"That's normal and you're fine." I say and climb up beside her, wrapping my arms around her stomach and laying down with her in front of me. I cover her with the blankets and kiss her for a second then stroke her hair. No one can hurt her, and I'll make sure of that no matter what it takes. She's mine and will remain so forever. And if anyone stands in my way of her... oh they're going to be in for a nasty surprise, because it turns out Achillean was right. I am a Monster. But only when it comes to protecting her and I'm sure he knows that some bonds can never and I mean never. Be broken. 

"Did I do the wrong thing?" I hear Addy whisper.

"What do you mean 'did you do the wrong thing' Calling for me may have saved your life." I say and stroke her hair. 

"I know I just feel wrong." She says,

"I promise it's fine. My job is to protect you from everything but me." I say and kiss her again. She looks at me once I finish and I smile. 

"I'm happy you care."

"I always will. Now go to sleep, you need it."
