"that guy just insta locked jett now im scared to talk" nova said to her chat "but like i'd rather find out what kind of people they are right now rather than them throwing later on"
"estrella who are you playing?" one of the players asked
"um i can play whatever i'll fill" nova said "chat im scared im scared they're going to say something weird or dodge i just know it"
"oh ma gad its a girl" the sage said
"dude we lost" the instalock jett of course "im not even trying now"
"dude females in the kitchen not here" another teammate said
"ok im not dealing with this im just dodging now" this would've been the fifth game the girl had played and she had had 2 horrible lobbies and then 2 where she had just decided not to talk
nova was starting to get tired of it, she enjoyed the gameplay but the part where she had to deal with toxic teammates was mentally draining, she had more than once ended stream because she felt herself starting to tear up and didnt want to cry on stream.
the girl looked to the side after hearing her discord pinging, and there was a few messages from foolish inviting her to cue in for some games with tina.
over the time they had been in the qsmp they had become quite close, the two somehow almost always finding each other in the server and hanging out even if it was only for a few minutes, leo and dee had also seemed to have became friends so they had "play dates" and completed tasks together sometimes too. they hadnt hung out outside of the game too much, or anything further than a few discord messages, but somehow nova knew that they could be great friends if they just spent more time together.
"oh i might have people to play with" the girl said joining the discord call "hello"
"hiiii" foolish said
"hi nova its so nice to meet you" tina's voice was heard
"oh hi its nice to meet you too" nova had watched a few tina streams before and she had grown to like her
"how've your games been?" the boy asked
"um i won two and lost two because i had horrible teammates" she replied "i added you by the way"
"what rank are you?" the other girl in the call asked
"gold 3 i was plat but deranked earlier" she explained "but we're ranking back up right now right?"
"oh yeaaaa totally" "yea sure man surely" both streamers replied with sarcasm
"oh thanks i feel great now"

"and so like i just stood up and we flipped" tina finished her story
"bro i always act like i could just do any water sports easily but i cant swim" the three were in their second match and had been talking about a bunch of random things
"you cant swim?" foolish asked
"nope, i mean i can like move around a pool probably but i cant really swim" novah replied
"how old are you?" he asked
"hey dont be rude now" tina defended the other girl
"listen i have trauma ok?"
"ok? well share with the class" the boy spoke
"when i was little i went to swimming lessons and the teacher had us paddle with like mini boards and then we were in the deep side of the pool right? so i somehow flipped and couldnt get back up and the asshole teacher just left me there for like a good minute struggling" both foolish and tina chuckled at the story, foolish then just going into a full fit of laughter "im glad me almost dying is funny to you"
