Liam and Lizzy brought the prisoners their meal. It was the first time since their return.

"What are you doing here? Come to gloat." Crispin said spitefully. We did not hear the response.

Councilman Klaus walked over to us.

"You know I would bite them if I was not afraid their blood would make me bitter like them." He shook his head and walked away into his chamber.

Liam and Lizzy walked over to us.

"You know there are days I wish I was a vampire." Liam said looking back at the cell. "Funny you should say that. You are not the only one." Shaun told him.

"Shaun who was that man you just released?"

"He was the vampire that was in the cage." Shaun pointed up to the ceiling. They looked up. "Oh! I take it he was not a nice one."

"No Liam he is not."

"Anything we have to worry about?"

"He likes to twist the rules."

"One of those. Once they are known to the Council. They do not last too long."

"You are right there." Shaun said smiling.

We went to our quarters to have our evening meal.

I noticed by the end of the second month on Paddy's blood. I was becoming jumpy.

"Are you all right?" Paddy asked me one night.

"Just a little jumpy."

"Why would you be ...? Oh do you think it is my blood?"

"I do not know. I do not feel thirsty."

"Tomorrow will be day twenty eight. It will be your third sip." I nodded. He brushed back my hair. "Are you sure you are all right?"

"Yes." I smiled. He kissed my forehead.

"Let me know if it gets worse."

"I will."

"All right. Let us do our patrol. We will be passing by the Pub to pick up the girls."

"All right."

We headed for Fraser's Pub.

I kept thinking that something was going to jump out of the shadows when I realised I was the one jumping out of them.

We waited for the girls.

Quinn was sitting on the ground drawing things in the dirt then wiping them away. It just memorised me. I could not turn my eyes away.

Scott had a small booklet with him. He was writing down some things he needed when we went into the woods.

Paddy was listening to the people in the Pub.

The girls came out of the Pub. Quinn stood up it broke my trance. I must have been staring for a long time my eye were gritty. I kept blinking them to clean them.
