'You slow!' Feitan pointed out for the umpteenth time as he slammed you into the wall. He let you go and backed off. 'Again,' he said. Again. You had come to hate that word. Of course you were both grateful and somewhat flattered that he had decided to spend his time training you, but you were getting sick of being thrown into things. The two of you might be the same size, but his skill level was so far above yours that it was staggering. His so called teaching style consisted of him either attacking you, while you desperately tried to think of new ways to hold him off, or him easily staying out of your reach while pointing out that you were too slow. Sometimes it was an embarrassing combination of both.
Still, desperation and humiliation were pretty good motivators, so your defenses as well as your speed had skyrocketed these past weeks. Not that your speed had been half bad even before, you would have easily outrun most of the other spiders, and some of them could barely follow you with their eyes now. But not Feitan. Try as you might you had not been able to lay even one finger on him, or even less land any kind of attack. And not long ago you had thought you could match his speed easily...now you knew you were not even close.
Shit, you thought, as you barely dodged his hand and tried to slide away only to feel his other hand close around your wrist. A moment later you were pinned to the wall again, one of your wrists held tightly above your head, while his forearm was pressing against your throat.
'Slow,' he said, cold gray eyes staring into yours, and you turned your head to the side, sighing. Yeah, too slow again, you thought. What a surprise.
His arm released your throat, and instead you felt his fingers touch your face.
'Where you get this?' he asked, tapping the small crescent shaped scar on your cheek. And here you had almost convinced yourself that it was barely visible...of course Feitan had to be the one to notice it.
That scar... for a moment your mind was back on Greed Island, staring into golden but cold eyes as strong fingers dug into your cheeks. 'You will feel it all! Every ounce of pain, every shiver of fear,' he had told you, pressing his long, sharp nails harder into your cheeks until one had pierced deep into your skin, and you had felt blood run down the side of your face.
Shuddering at the memory, you snapped back to reality, to the gray eyes still staring into yours. 'Greed Island,' you muttered as a response. That, together with the expression on your face must have said it all.
'Hisoka?' It was not really a question, but you nodded anyway. You couldn't lie to him.
'Yes, it was Hisoka,' you said quietly, then gasped as the world suddenly turned into red hot rage as Feitan lost control of his bloodlust. It lasted mere seconds, then he was in control again, glaring at the offending half circle on your face. He tapped it again.
'I have idea. Fix later,' he said before he abruptly let you go and strode off, without even reminding you to stay put and keep practicing like he usually did.

You spent a couple of hours practicing anyway, then you went to the kitchen to help out with the preparations for dinner, chatting a bit with Machi and Nobunaga before going back to your room. Most of the spiders were gathered by now, and everybody was eagerly hoping and waiting for Chrollo to return. You had to admit you were more than a little curious about him, and not only because he was supposed to decide your fate. He must be very special to keep this odd group of powerful weirdos together like this, it was clear that they all respected him, and were fiercely loyal both to him and the Troupe.
