Our group is walking exhausted from the mission. Nezuko was lucky they could carry her while she was sleeping in the box.
The others weren't so lucky, they just wanted to get home and rest. They weren't especially happy as well. They went to that mission for absolutely nothing.
They were just injured and tired.
They had to wait a few days to come back. At least two days.
"This is impossible! How did you wake up?!" Exclaims Aoi.
Zenitsu was quite confused too. He woke up, feeling less pain than usual. He was lucky Kanao was near. It took a while to calm both of them down.
He looks at himself in the mirror, scars all over his body from the cracks which were once open. There are no signs of flowers anywhere and he doesn't feel that much pain. It's obvious it still hurts a little, however, it was as if the disease was...cured?
It was all really confusing yet everyone was happy. The Butterfly sisters were very delighted.
"We have to tell the others then!" Yells the three little girls.
"Can I just take a walk?" Asks the blonde "I need some fresh air."
"Yeah, yeah.. go on!" Aoi says happily. "Be careful though!"
"Could I go with you..?" Whispers Kanao.
Zenitsu nods.
"I would be happy, I'm not really used to this. I need a support friend."
Kanao smiles and they both leave.
"Should we go to Mitsuri's house? I'm sure she would be happy to see you." Suggest the female.
Zenitsu smiles.
"That's a great idea!"
Once they arrive, Iguro opens the door. His mouth is wide open.
"You!? I thought you were-"
"I have many questions myself. I thought I was dead too Iguro."
Iguro lets them inside, still a little shocked.
"Um...darling! Someone has visited you!"
"Hmm? Who is it? Coming!" Shouts Mitsuri from the kitchen.
She drops her food when she sees her blonde friend.
"Ze-Zenitsu!" She feels her eyes tearing up from joy.
She runs towards him and hugs him tight.
"I thought I was going to lose you!" She sobs.
Zenitsu hugs her back, also tearing up.
"Don't worry..I'm here."
"I can't believe it! I thought the only cure was-"
"I have no idea why I'm awake and alive, we are still working out if it's only for a while."
Mitsuri smiles at him brightly, glad she got her friend back. She greets Kanao too.
"Come on we have to tell the rest!"
The rest of the day is full of surprises and laughter, they eat and spend the day together.
"Oh that's right Zenitsu. Thank you for the letters..." thanks Genya.
"They were really beautiful!" Rengoku yells.
Zenitsu feels a shiver down his spine.
"Umm..my letters?"
"That's right!"
The blonde starts to feel more nervous, he gives Mitsuri a look. Mitsuri feels it and suggest to talk later.
As the days pass, they get to talk about it. It's just Mitsuri and Zenitsu.
"Oh god, oh god! I'm doomed! This is the end Mitsuri! My life is officially over. Why would Shinobu give it to that dumbass?!"
"Zenitsu...we thought you were going to die. We thought you wouldn't last a week. It's the only thing she could do."
"Well ?! Did he read it?"
Mitsuri stays silent, laughing nervously.
"Mitsuri. Did he read it?"
"Umm..well..I'm not sure!"
"He read it...didn't he?!"
"Yeah, he did."
"AGHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Zenitsu! Calm down! He went to find a cure for you after reading it. I'm sure that isn't a bad reaction."
"MY LIFE IS RUINED MITSURI! I'll die as an outcast and have no one to love. No one is going to love me! Don't you get it?! Tanjiro is too kind! He probably went to find a cure to save me and then reject my feelings kindly! Or not kindly! Oh my! He must hate me! He despises me!" His breathing was getting out of control and some tears were falling.
Mitsuri's grabs both his shoulders, trying to calm his anxiety.
"Zenitsu, breathe. What you are saying is wrong. Even if that is the case, I'll love you. Inosuke will love you. Shinobu will love you. Your brother will love you. Do you understand? You are not alone."
Zenitsu holds her hand.
"Thank you Mitsuri. Thank you for being there for me, I don't what would I do without you."
Mitsuri tears up a little bit.
"Stoppp! You are going to make me cry!"
They both laugh.
The blonde is laying in bed. He has checked multiple of times yet there was no sign of the disease coming back. This was too strange. Why would it suddenly stop all of a sudden?! He needed answers. Honestly, he was glad he wasn't dead but at the same time...he was disappointed? It's like he just wished it all was gone. It was a weird feeling.
All these thoughts made him tired, he slowly fell asleep.
