I wake up sweating, just like I have been in 30 minute intervals for the past 3 hours. I can't do this.
I push the covers off of my body and reach over to grab my glasses. I sit them on my face and pick my phone. Walking to the kitchen, I scroll through the contacts. Matt. The phone rings through a few times, then he picks up. "Hey."
A sleepy smile crosses my lips. "Matt, hi." I lift myself onto my kitchen counter and sit with my legs dangling over the side. "I'm guessing trying to sleep didn't work out?" I sigh. "Nope."
"Do you wanna come over?"
I look down at my lap, then over at the clock on my microwave. "Matt, it's 2:00 AM." He laughs on the other end. "Come on, y/n, we both know you're practically nocturnal at this point. It's not the time you're worried about, you just don't want to put pants on." I let out a surprised laugh. "So what, I'm comfy. And I know you're blind, but I'm not going to walk around your apartment without pants. That's a boundary I am not willing to cross at this point in our friendship. No way Murdock!""Oh, so you'd be willing to cross that boundary in our friendship at some other point? Interesting!" He chuckles lowly. "T-that's, oh my god, you know that is not what I meant. I'm insanely sleep deprived, nothing I say I will come out the way I want it to. I'm surprised I can even form a coherent sentence."
"I'm sorry, was that supposed to be English? Because I did not understand a word, and I listen to people talk all day long. Maybe if you come over here, I could hear you better." A smirk forms on my lips as I look over to the hallway leading to my door. "Fine, I'll put some pants on."
"Pants are optional, I really wouldn't know unless I touched you."
I can hear the look on his face through the phone. "I'm putting pants on. See you in a few minutes."
