Hey guys 👋🏻
Thank you for choosing to read this story
So this story has finally made it to over 1K votes and comments. I really appreciate all the love and support that this book has been getting till now.
Now please excuse this rant if you feel it's irrelevant. All those people who enjoy following and unfollowing my account, please don't bother clicking on follow.
It's really annoying and I would prefer having less followers but genuine rather than having such people who keep following and unfollowing accounts.
For those of your who haven't already checked out my other story 'My Tribute to MSD' then please go on because I've uploaded a few chapters recently.
The above song is 'Bharat Ki Beti' from the movie 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl'

Now let's take a look at the events of the inaugural Under-19 World Cup
PS: I know the timeline is a little messed up, but I really wanted to focus on the Under-19 World Cup separately. I promise that things will be back in the proper timeline from the next chapter.
~~~~~~~
With the inaugural Women's Under-19 World Cup being held in January 2023, the BCCI announces the team around the start of December.
Shafali, Richa and Siya are also a part of the Under-19 squad, with Shafali being named captain for the team.
The selection committee had first approached Siya to be the captain of the squad, but she refused, saying that the senior most player should be named captain.
Siya was then asked to become the vice-captain, but she argued that the girl who had played as captain when the rest of their team had played a few matches before the World Cup deserved to take up that role.
~~~~~~~
Since the senior most players were busy in the home series against Australia, the rest of the team first plays New Zealand U-19 at home, before flying to South Africa for another series with the hosts.
Shafali, Richa and Siya soon join the rest of the Under-19 team, as they all gear up together for the inaugural Under-19 World Cup.
Mahi wanted to accompany his sister to South Africa to support her during the first Under-19 World Cup, but Siya convinces him to stay at home until their team makes it to the finals.
Siya always told her teammates that they would make it to the finals and win the World Cup for their country, while the girls would just pray to perform well.
The team was very new and so the coaches organised many team bonding sessions for them to gel up with each other.
One day during a bonding session, the head coach asked the girls to share their cricketing journey describing how they gained an interest in the sport and later started training, while they all attended an official meeting.
Shafali took over the session after all the coaches left and started narrating about her cricket journey where her father had been her biggest support.
Most of the girls talk about how they gained an interest by seeing male cricketers and with at least of their parent's support, they started training.
