I looked through the area where I kept the cloths. One stood out among the rest: a white one with a black moon and stars. Something I figure he would like, "did you want crystals today too?" I asked with my back turned to her. "I have some at my house, maybe a candle and a few trinkets," she said.

I nodded and walked over to the trinket cabinet, everything was handmade so I had to be careful with opening the doors. Once they were open, I looked through everything; nothing stood out. I picked up a small dish placing it in my hand. Something caught my eye just as I was about to close the doors.

It was a miniature replica mask. Everything was the same, down to the slits where the eyes are. I held it up for her to see "apparently I have a replica of his mask! He would love this!" I said, smiling brightly, sitting it in the dish. "That's cool, did you make it?" she asked, sitting on the barstool. I nodded, walking to the candle area.

"Apparently, at some point I did" a small laugh left my lips as I looked through the candles. I grabbed a few that would fit with the aesthetic. I walked behind the counter and placed everything down. Holding the small receipt book to my right, I began writing down the things I grabbed.

"It will be $35.00 today. Also I only take cash. I should have told you when you walked in, but I forgot I'm sorry!" I watched her pull out two 20 dollar bills; she handed them to me with a smile. "Keep the change since you were so kind to help me!" I shook my head no, grabbing a 5-dollar bill and putting it into her bag. "I can't take this! You never know when you might need it. Please take it!" I insisted.

She finally gave in, grabbing her things and thanking me while she walked out of the store. I walked to the front of the store and turned the sign to closed. It was around 6 pm so it was time to close up shop. Luckily I just had to walk upstairs to my house. I looked outside the window and saw a figure standing near the forest entrance.

I squinted, trying to get a better look but couldn't determine what it was. "Does someone need help?" I quietly asked myself before grabbing my jacket and an umbrella. It currently wasn't raining, but I know how that ends. You walk a few feet away from the shelter and the sky decides, 'hm I'm sad; let me cry all over these people.'

I grabbed my keys and walked out of the door. Shoving the key inside, I turned it to the left and locked it. I turned to look at the figure, but it wasn't there anymore. Getting worried, I stepped off of the sidewalk and jogged to the trees. "Hello? Does anyone need help? I saw you looking at my store and want to make sure you're okay," I said to nothing.

Something told me to go into the forest, but another part of me said it was a trap and I should go home. I looked down and sighed; fumbling around in my pockets, I finally found a loose penny. "Heads, I go home, tails I go look for the person," I said and flipped it, letting it hit the ground. I nervously looked down and smiled "guess we're going on an adventure."

I picked up the coin quickly and shoved it into my pocket before running into the woods. I looked around, saying hello every few minutes, hoping someone would say something back. Coming to a stop panting softly, I looked around. No one was in sight, and it was getting darker; I turned around to go the way I came but couldn't remember how to return.

I patted around my jacket, looking for my phone "shit! I left it at the store. I am completely lost now," I grumbled quietly. I was walking to the nearest tree leaning against it, and staring into the void. I felt water droplets hit the top of my head, looking up to see what it was. It started pouring before I could do anything; I huffed while opening my umbrella.

I wiped my face looking around; there was nowhere to go. I am stuck in the middle of the woods with no one. Just as I was in deep thought, a loud clap of thunder brought me back to the real world, startling me a bit. I took off running, wondering where I would end up.
