Mezurin and I were awoken early this morning by a horrible shrieking from nearby. Other patrols have told us it came from the Vassago Caverns, east from here. Concerns have risen amongst the both of us. It should be impossible to hear anything from somewhere as far away as that cave system. We've sent our requests to the general to investigate, though our hopes are not high. Reportedly, a group of shapes have also been detained for trespassing into the area. I worry they may have had part in... whatever the hell is going on over there. I took a quick look at Cemetris as well, given it's ties to the other Sage's Grounds-- which include the Vassago Caverns. Firefly seemed upset as well. It did not do well to ease my worries. The slightest interference with the Sages could spell disaster. We are lucky Firefly has grown so tolerant of visitors, even if it is just to scare them. I can only hope whatever unholy events are taking place in the Vassago Caverns are resolved soon, lest it's ties to reality grow unstable.
